Philippines resume templates by sector
Each template is a two-to-three-page PH format. Pick by sector — BPO, corporate, IT, government, or PRC-licensed.
Fresh Graduate (Philippines)
Best for: UP, Ateneo, La Salle, UST, Mapua, FEU, PLM graduates; OJT-completed applicants; first-job seekers
Structure: Contact → Personal Details (Birthday, Religion optional) → Career Objective → Education (with Latin honours) → On-the-Job Training (OJT) → Seminars & Trainings → Skills → Character References
Fresh-graduate hiring at SGV, Unilever PH, Procter & Gamble PH, Nestle PH, and the major BPOs (Accenture, Concentrix, TaskUs) screens on school + Latin honours (Cum Laude / Magna / Summa) + OJT site. OJT (on-the-job training) is genuinely a screening field — name the host company and hours completed.
Use templateBPO / Contact Centre (PH)
Best for: BPO agents, team leads, ops managers, training, QA, workforce — Accenture, Concentrix, TaskUs, TELUS International PH, IBM PH, Sutherland
Structure: Contact → Personal Details → Career Objective → Work Experience (with LOB, account, headcount) → Education → Trainings (Six Sigma, COPC, ITIL) → Skills → References
PH is the world's second-largest BPO market. Recruiters screen on: LOB (line of business — Voice / Non-Voice / Tech Support / Sales / Back-office), account / client name (US Telco / US Healthcare / Australian Fintech), headcount managed, CSAT / NPS / AHT metrics, COPC / Six Sigma / ITIL trainings. Name the BPO majors precisely.
Use templateProfessional / Corporate (PH)
Best for: Mid-career roles at Ayala, SM, San Miguel, JG Summit, Aboitiz, BDO, BPI, Metrobank, Globe, PLDT
Structure: Contact → Personal Details → Career Objective → Work Experience → Education → Professional Licenses (PRC) → Trainings → Skills → References
Philippine conglomerates (Ayala, SM, San Miguel, JG Summit, Aboitiz, Lopez Group) and the big banks (BDO, BPI, Metrobank, Land Bank) screen on PRC license (if applicable), tier of school, and conglomerate group lineage. Two-to-three pages is acceptable; older sectors still expect a Character References list at the end.
Use templateIT / Tech (PH)
Best for: Software developers, data, QA, DevOps roles at Globe Labs, GCash / Mynt, Maya, Kumu, Mosaic Solutions, IBM PH
Structure: Contact → Career Objective → Technical Skills → Work Experience → Projects → Education → Certifications → References
PH tech is fintech-led (GCash, Maya, UnionDigital). Recruiters use Greenhouse, Lever, Workday — single-column, table-free, stack listed up front for keyword matching. Github + LinkedIn hyperlinks parse fine. AWS, Azure, GCP certifications carry weight.
Use templateGovernment & PRC Licensed
Best for: Government office applicants, PRC board-passers (CPA, RN, RME, RCE, RA, etc.), state university teaching, LGU positions
Structure: Contact → Personal Details (Birthday, Civil Status, Religion if PSA-applicable) → Career Objective → Education → PRC License (number, validity, board exam date) → Eligibility (CSC, Career Service) → Work Experience → Trainings → References
Government and PRC-licensed roles still use the older, fuller resume format with personal details, Civil Service Commission (CSC) eligibility, PRC license number with validity date, and board-exam topnotch placement (Top 1, Top 3, Top 10) if applicable. Don't modernise — CSC and PRC require the fuller block.
Use templateSenior / Executive (Philippines)
Best for: C-suite, BU heads at PSE-listed companies, conglomerate group officers, family-office heads
Structure: Contact → Executive Summary → Career History → Board / Trusts → Education (with MBA, AIM, Harvard / Wharton AMP) → Professional Licenses → Memberships
Two-to-three pages. PSE-listed scale, conglomerate group lineage (Ayala / SM / JG Summit / Aboitiz), AIM (Asian Institute of Management) and international MBA / AMP programmes called out. Management Association of the Philippines (MAP), Financial Executives Institute (FINEX), MAP Board memberships weighted.
Use templatePhilippines resume vs US resume: what's different
OJT, PRC license, CSC eligibility, character references, and BPO-specific metrics — the differences that matter on PH applications.
| 🇵🇭 Philippines | 🇺🇸 United States |
|---|---|
| Two-to-three pages — three is common for senior corporate | One page unless 10+ years |
| "Resume" or "CV" used interchangeably | Resume for corporate, CV for academia |
| Photo: optional for modern private sector; required for government / PRC applications | Never include a photo |
| Personal details (birthday, civil status, religion, citizenship) common, especially government | Protected characteristics omitted |
| Character References — typically three named, with phone and relationship | References omitted entirely |
| Date format: "March 2024" or "DD/MM/YYYY" | "March 2024" or "03/2024" |
| OJT / On-the-Job Training section for fresh graduates | Internship equivalent, less standardised |
| Seminars & Trainings list expected — separate section | Often rolled into education or omitted |
| PRC license number and validity stated for licensed professions | Licensure may be mentioned but no national equivalent |
| CSC eligibility (Sub-Professional / Professional) stated for government | No equivalent |

Open the Philippines Resume BuilderHow to state work authorization
For Filipino citizens applying domestically, this is rarely needed. For foreign nationals, dual citizens, OFW returnees, and outbound applications, state status clearly.
Filipino Citizen
List nationality plainly. Strongest screen-pass. State TIN, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG numbers only at onboarding stage, not on the resume.
9(g) Pre-Arranged Employment Visa
Most common foreign-national work visa. Employer-sponsored, valid 1-3 years. State as "9(g) Visa — current sponsor: [Employer], valid until [date]" or "Eligible for 9(g) sponsorship". Required for technical and managerial foreign hires.
SRRV (Special Resident Retiree's Visa)
For retirees and select investors aged 35+. Includes work rights with permit. State as "SRRV holder — work permit eligible". Common at family-office, consultancy, and ed-tech roles.
Balikbayan Visa (Returning Filipinos / Spouses)
For former Filipino citizens, their foreign spouses, and minor children — 1-year visa-free entry with work options. State as "Balikbayan — [former citizen / spouse]".
Special Visa for Employment Generation (SVEG)
For foreign nationals investing in or generating employment in PH. State as "SVEG holder — [investment context]".
OFW returnee / dual citizen
For dual citizens or recent OFW returnees, state plainly: "Filipino-American dual citizen", "Returning OFW (Saudi 2018-2024, technical experience transferable)". Many PH employers value international experience but want clarity on availability.
Writing tips for Philippines resumes
Lead with school + Latin honours + OJT site for fresh graduates
PH grad-scheme recruiters at SGV, Unilever PH, P&G PH, Nestle PH, and the major BPOs screen on UP / Ateneo / La Salle / UST + Cum Laude / Magna / Summa + OJT host company. Name all three explicitly. List OJT separately with host company, position, and hours completed.
Speak BPO-fluent for BPO roles
Recruiters at Accenture, Concentrix, TaskUs, TELUS International PH, IBM PH, Sutherland, Alorica screen on: LOB (Voice / Non-Voice / Tech Support / Sales / Back-office), client account by description if NDA-bound (US Telco / US Health Insurance / Australian Fintech), headcount, BPO metrics (CSAT / NPS / AHT / FCR / Quality), trainings (Six Sigma Yellow / Green / Black, COPC, ITIL). Lead with these — generic "managed a team" loses against BPO-fluent CVs.
List PRC license number, validity, and board placement
For PRC-licensed professions (CPA, RN, RME, RCE, RA, MD, LPT, RPh, REE, etc.): state license number, validity date, board-passing date, and topnotch placement if applicable (Top 1, Top 3, Top 10). "Certified Public Accountant — License No. XXXXX, valid until 06/2028, passed October 2020 (Top 7)" — topnotcher placement is actively recruited.
For government applications, keep the full format
Civil Service Commission (CSC) eligibility (Sub-Professional / Professional / Career Service) with date passed and rating. Full personal details — birthday, civil status, citizenship. PRC license where applicable. Eligibility under PD 907, RA 1080, RA 9647 where applicable. Use the CSC Form 212 layout — Notice of Vacancy requirements are specific.
Quantify in PHP and reference conglomerate / sector context
PHP / ₱ for financial metrics. PSE-listed (Ayala, SM, BDO, San Miguel, JG Summit, Aboitiz, Lopez, GT Capital, BPI, Globe, PLDT), or government corporation (Land Bank, DBP, GSIS, SSS) scale called out. Conglomerate group lineage matters — "Ayala Land", "SM Investments", "San Miguel Food and Beverage" parses better than just the operating unit name.
Three named character references at the bottom
PH practice is three named referees with name, title, organisation, phone, email, and relationship. "Available on request" is increasingly accepted in modern private sector but the named list remains the default at government, PRC-licensed, and traditional corporate roles. Brief your referees you're applying — PH hiring runs warm, recruiters do call.
