Job Summary

An assistant foreman supervises a team on a project, assisting the foreman in planning,

coordinating, and executing tasks to ensure quality, safety, and efficiency. Key responsibilities

include assigning du?es, monitoring progress, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and

performing direct labor as needed. This role requires leadership skills, a strong understanding of

the project's technical aspects, and the ability to solve problems as they arise.

Key responsibilities :

• Supervision and training: Direct and assist the crew, supervise their work, and train new and

existing employees on procedures and safety.

• Project coordination: Assist in planning and scheduling tasks, and coordinate the delivery of

materials and equipment.

• Safety and compliance: Enforce safety regulations, conduct safety briefings, and ensure all

work complies with project specifications and company policies.

• Performance monitoring: Monitor productivity and work quality, and manage daily time and

labor reports.

• Problem-solving: Troubleshoot issues related to workers, safety, quality, or processes and

expedite solutions.

• Direct labor: Perform direct labor as a working member of the team, which may include

operating equipment or performing maintenance.

Requirements :

• Leadership: Ability to lead, motivate, and direct a team.
• Technical knowledge: Thorough knowledge of project-specific processes, equipment, and

procedures.

• Communication: Effectively communicate with crew members, supervisors, and other

stakeholders.

• Physical stamina: Ability to perform tasks that may require moderate to significant physical

effort, often in varying weather conditions.

• Problem-solving: Capacity to identify and resolve technical and logis?cal problems.
• Experience: Previous experience as an individual contributor in a related field is oUen required.
• Education: A high school diploma is typically the minimum educational requirement.
