Procurement Officer-MEP

KEA Building Contracting LLC is looking for an experienced Procurement Officer – MEP to manage the sourcing and procurement of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing materials and equipment for building construction projects.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of MEP materials, UAE market pricing, suppliers, and procurement procedures, with excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle procurement of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Firefighting, and ELV materials and equipment according to project requirements.
• Receive and review Material Requests (MRs) / Purchase Requisitions (PRs) from project and MEP teams.
• Source suitable MEP suppliers and subcontractors and obtain competitive quotations.
• Prepare and issue RFQs, quotation comparison sheets, LPOs, and Purchase Orders (POs).
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties, and other commercial terms with suppliers.
• Ensure materials and equipment are procured according to approved specifications, brands, quantities, budgets, and project schedules.
• Coordinate with MEP Engineers, Project Managers, Estimation, QS, Stores, Finance, and Accounts teams.
• Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of MEP materials and equipment to project sites.
• Monitor pending purchase orders and resolve material shortages, delivery delays, and supply issues.
• Evaluate suppliers based on price, technical compliance, quality, reliability, lead time, and delivery performance.
• Maintain an updated database of MEP suppliers, quotations, material prices, and procurement records.
• Support value engineering and cost-saving initiatives by identifying alternative suppliers and technically compliant materials.
• Coordinate with technical teams for material submittals, approvals, and procurement schedules.
• Verify procurement documents, delivery notes, invoices, and other supporting documentation.
• Resolve discrepancies related to quantity, specifications, approved brands, pricing, quality, or delivery.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in MEP Procurement, preferably within the UAE construction/contracting industry.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field OR minimum 5 years of relevant procurement experience.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, Drainage, Firefighting, Electrical, ELV, and other MEP materials and equipment.
• Good knowledge of the UAE MEP supplier market, brands, and material pricing.
• Strong sourcing, negotiation, and vendor management skills.
• Experience preparing RFQs, comparison sheets, LPOs/POs, and procurement documentation.
• Ability to understand MEP specifications, BOQs, drawings, material submittals, and project requirements.
• Good understanding of MEP material lead times and project procurement schedules.
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
• Experience with ERP/procurement systems is an advantage.
• Strong communication, coordination, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple procurement requirements and meet urgent project deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness.
