Description

An MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Quantity Surveyor manages all costs relating to MEP systems in construction projects, from initial calculations to final accounts. They prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs), estimate budgets, evaluate tenders, manage variations, and conduct site valuations to ensure project profitability.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Pre-Contract Estimation & Tendering: Review MEP drawings, specifications, and scope documents for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems. Prepare accurate BoQs, pre-tender estimates, and cost plans.
  • Cost Management & Control: Perform detailed quantity take-offs using software (e.g., BIM). Monitor project costs and forecast expenditure for MEP packages.
  • Contract Administration: Evaluate contractor bids, negotiate, and prepare tender documents.
  • Post-Contract Services: Manage variation orders (VOS), evaluate claims, and conduct monthly site valuations.
  • Site Coordination & Reporting: Attend site meetings, liaise with contractors, and prepare financial reports on project progress and cost status. DLS CONSULTANT +6

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Education: Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
  • Experience: Proven experience in MEP costing, estimation, and site measurement in consultancy or contracting firms.
  • Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of MEP systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection), measurement standards (e.g., SMM7, NRM2), and software like Cost-X, AutoCAD, or BIM tools.
  • Soft Skills: Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED13,000.00 - AED15,000.00 per month
