We are seeking a skilled, reliable, and hardworking Electrician cum AC Technician to handle electrical maintenance and air-conditioning systems in our steel manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical equipment and AC units, ensuring proper functioning of electrical and cooling systems, performing routine inspections and preventive maintenance, and maintaining a safe and organized working environment.
JOB RESPONSIBILITES
· Assist in install electrical systems, wiring, and machinery in the factory environment. This may include lighting systems, power distribution panels, machines, and other equipment.
· Assist in the electrical installation of new machinery or equipment, ensuring proper power supply and connections.
· Perform scheduled inspections of electrical systems and equipment, ensuring everything operates at optimal efficiency and safety standards
· Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues, including power failures, circuit issues, faulty wiring, and equipment breakdowns.
· Fix electrical components such as circuits, motors, switches, and control systems that fail or malfunction during production
· Follow a preventive maintenance program, replacing worn-out parts or upgrading outdated electrical components to prevent future breakdowns.
· Maintain and repair motors, transformers, and other electrical machinery, ensuring they are functioning effectively and safely
· Work on maintaining and programming PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces) used to control and monitor factory machines.
· Ensure electrical power is properly distributed throughout the factory, including maintaining and upgrading electrical panels, circuit breakers, and fuses.
· Use specialized diagnostic tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.) to identify electrical faults, such as short circuits, grounding issues, or malfunctions in electrical devices.
· Read and interpret electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics to identify the source of electrical problems.
· Respond to electrical failures or breakdowns quickly to minimize downtime and resume production as soon as possible.
· Follow strict safety guidelines and procedures to ensure the safety of workers and equipment. This includes lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures, arc flash protection, and personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols.
· Ensure that all electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance activities comply with local, state, and national electrical codes and safety standards
· Identify and report potential electrical hazards in the factory environment and take steps to mitigate them to prevent accidents such as electrical shocks, fires, or explosions.
· Work closely with factory supervisors and managers to ensure electrical systems meet operational requirements and support production goals.
· Document and report any significant electrical failures or system malfunctions, providing clear descriptions of issues and how they were resolved.
· Monitor and balance electrical loads to avoid overloading circuits and prevent downtime due to power shortages or failures.
· Ensure that electrical systems and machinery are always available and operational for production needs.
· Service, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair split, cassette, package, and ducted AC units.
· Clean AC filters, condenser/evaporator coils, drain trays, and drainage lines.
· Assist with AC installation, relocation, replacement, and commissioning.
· Carry out refrigerant charging/recovery as authorized and using approved equipment.
· Check AC control wiring, breakers, isolators, contactors, capacitors, and motors.
· Conduct functional testing after repair before returning equipment to service.
Job Qualifications
· ITI / Diploma in Electrical, HVAC, or related technical field.
· Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in electrical and AC maintenance.
· Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments is preferred.
· Strong knowledge of electrical wiring, panels, motors, switches, and control systems.
· Experience in installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of split, cassette, and central AC systems.
· Ability to diagnose and repair electrical and AC-related faults.
· Knowledge of preventive and routine maintenance procedures.
· Basic understanding of electrical safety standards and workplace safety practices.
· Ability to read basic electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
· Physically fit and able to work in a factory environment.
· Willingness to work flexible hours and attend emergency maintenance requirements.
