The Manufacturing Modules and Site Steering division is responsible for producing premium in-house components for the Volkswagen Group across the Ingolstadt and Münchsmünster locations. The area combines a broad range of manufacturing technologies, including foundry operations, chassis components, wheel production, tool engineering, module refurbishment, and maintenance activities. Working closely with public stakeholders, production networks, research institutions, and strategic partners, the department drives the future development of manufacturing operations and industrial innovation. After completing the program, you will support site management activities, contribute to manufacturing strategy development, coordinate innovation initiatives, and help shape future production methods across an international industrial environment.

Job Purpose/Role

  • You will complete the first project within your target field Plant Management and Strategy
  • During the program, you will work independently on up to four additional projects in various divisions of the company, one of which will take place at a VW Group brand abroad
  • In addition, you will complete short modules in different areas of the company (e. g., assembly)
  • You will engage in various working groups within the Graduate Trainee Community
  • After completing the program, you will assume your permanent position in your target field Key Requirements/Skills/Experience

  • A university degree from an accredited institution in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Business Engineering or a similar field
  • Above-average academic performance
  • Interest in manufacturing strategy, production systems, industrial innovation, and operations management
  • Initial experience in production, process optimization, project management, manufacturing engineering, or industrial transformation projects is advantageous
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Minimum of three months of international experience during your academic studies through internships or an exchange semester
  • Practical experience of at least six months through relevant internships
  • Fluent English and German language skills at B2 level
  • Relevant extra-curricular commitment
