QA/QC Electrical Engineer

Our sister company, Barbuda Electromechanical Works LLC, is looking for an experienced and competent QA/QC Electrical Engineer with strong experience in high-rise building projects in the UAE.

Job Summary

The QA/QC Electrical Engineer will be responsible for implementing and maintaining quality-control procedures for all electrical works. The candidate must ensure that electrical installations comply with approved drawings, project specifications, inspection and test plans, quality standards and UAE authority requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor the approved Project Quality Plan and QA/QC procedures for all electrical works.
• Inspect power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, earthing, lightning protection, fire alarm and ELV installations.
• Review contract documents, technical specifications, approved shop drawings, material submittals and method statements.
• Prepare and maintain Inspection and Test Plans, checklists, method statements and quality-control records.
• Raise and follow up Material Inspection Requests and Work Inspection Requests.
• Coordinate inspections with consultants, clients, main contractors, subcontractors and site teams.
• Verify that delivered electrical materials and equipment comply with approved material submittals, project specifications and purchase orders.
• Inspect conduits, cable trays, trunking, cables, distribution boards, switchgear, lighting fixtures and electrical equipment before consultant inspection.
• Ensure that installation, testing and commissioning activities follow approved procedures and applicable standards.
• Witness electrical tests, including insulation-resistance, continuity, earth-resistance, functional and system-performance testing.
• Monitor site activities and identify any deviations from approved drawings, specifications and quality requirements.
• Raise Non-Conformance Reports for defective or non-compliant work and follow up until satisfactory closure.
• Maintain logs for inspections, material approvals, NCRs, observations, testing records and corrective actions.
• Conduct regular quality inspections and internal audits of electrical works.
• Coordinate with engineering and site teams to resolve technical and quality-related issues.
• Ensure that all measuring and testing equipment has valid calibration certificates.
• Monitor subcontractor quality performance and ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Attend QA/QC, technical, progress and coordination meetings.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly quality reports for project management.
• Coordinate snagging inspections and ensure the timely closure of consultant and client comments.
• Compile testing records, inspection approvals and quality documentation for project handover.
• Review and verify as-built drawings, O&M manuals, warranties and final handover documents.
• Ensure full compliance with the company’s quality, health, safety and environmental requirements.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Six to ten years of relevant QA/QC experience in MEP construction.
• Proven experience as a QA/QC Electrical Engineer on high-rise building projects.
• Strong UAE experience in high-rise building construction is required.
• Comprehensive knowledge of electrical, fire alarm and ELV systems.
• Good knowledge of UAE authority regulations, international electrical standards and construction codes.
• Strong knowledge of Project Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans, MIRs, WIRs, NCRs and quality documentation.
• Experience in electrical inspection, testing, commissioning, snagging and final handover.
• Ability to read and understand electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, specifications and BOQs.
• Strong technical, inspection, reporting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office and relevant QA/QC documentation systems.
• Relevant QA/QC certification will be an advantage.
