Role Description The Myofunctional Therapist/ Dentist is a full-time, on-site role based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This role involves assessing and treating children with myofunctional disorders, including issues related to breathing, swallowing, tongue posture, and oral habits. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing clinical evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, providing early corrective orthodontic care, and delivering myofunctional therapy exercises and follow-up. The dentist will collaborate closely with parents and caregivers to educate them on preventive strategies and home exercises, and work with other dental and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive, integrative care. Additional tasks include maintaining accurate clinical records, adhering to regulatory and safety standards, and contributing to practice growth through high-quality patient experiences and continuous professional development.
Qualifications
May or may not be a dentist
- Training or strong interest in orofacial myofunctional therapy, including assessment and management of breathing, swallowing, and oral habit issues.
- Ability to develop individualized treatment plans, monitor progress, and adjust therapies based on clinical outcomes.
- Excellent communication and counseling skills for working with children and families, including clear education on home exercises and preventive care.
- Commitment to holistic, integrative oral health, with openness to interdisciplinary collaboration (e.g., ENT specialists, speech therapists, orthodontists).
- Recognized degree in Oro myofacial/ speech therapy , or dentistry with myo training; with valid licensure or eligibility for licensure in the United Arab Emirates.
- Fluency in English; additional language skills are an advantage in a multicultural setting.
- Prior experience in private practice is preferred; experience in functional or airway-focused dentistry is a plus.
