Job Summary

ob Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Data Center Operations Specialist to join our growing infrastructure team. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational health of our data center environment. Your focus will span real-time monitoring via DCIM tools, managing the physical whitespace, assisting with capacity tracking, generating operational reports, and strictly maintaining our health, safety, and security standards. Key Responsibilities • Monitoring & DCIM Management: o Monitor data center infrastructure continuously using Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools and building management systems (BMS). o Respond immediately to environmental alarms (power, cooling, humidity) and system alerts, following escalation paths to ensure minimal downtime. o Ensure all infrastructure assets are accurately tracked and updated within the DCIM platform. • Whitespace & Facilities Operations: o Manage physical whitespace activities, including the installation, racking, stacking, and cabling of servers, switches, and storage units. o Oversee structured cabling installations (fiber and copper) adhering to neatness and performance standards. o Conduct regular physical walkthroughs of the whitespace to audit rack layouts, airflow containment, and overall cleanliness. • Capacity Management & Reporting: o Assist with tracking resource consumption, including rack space, power availability, and cooling capacity. o Collaborate with the capacity planning team to allocate space for incoming hardware deployment projects. o Generate and distribute routine operational reports regarding power utilization, environmental metrics, incidents, and asset inventories. • Health, Safety, & Security Standards: o Enforce strict physical security protocols, including managing vendor access, logging visitors, and auditing cage/rack locks. o Maintain strict compliance with local environmental safety and security regulations and corporate safety guidelines. o Ensure aisles, escape routes, and electrical panels remain completely unobstructed at all times. Qualifications & Skills • Experience: 3–5 years of experience working in a mission-critical data center environment or a similar technical infrastructure role. • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with data center power distribution (PDU, UPS) and cooling methodologies (CRAC/CRAH units, hot/cold aisle containment). Tools: Hands-on experience with DCIM software (e.g., Nlyte, Sunbird, EcoStruxure) and ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira, Remedy) .
