Job description

Who are we?

Victron Energy is a family company founded in 1975 by Reinout Vader. Victron designs and sells inverters, chargers, and more related power conversion products. We are a technology-focused and sales-driven company; to stay leading, we rely on a strong R&D team. Most products contain software, and lately, more and more of our unique features are in software. The company structure is flat. This position will be on location in Groningen.

What are you going to do?

You develop test systems (used for the production line) so that Victron Energy products can be extensively tested after they have been produced. You design and create these test systems in Groningen together with your colleagues. Various techniques come together, but the core techniques are electrical engineering and information technology. For testing, you use an advanced test data system. The products must be tested at the assembly plants to meet our high-quality standards. You communicate with the R&D and Supplier Development Managers within Victron Energy. Your input on the development of test methods would be highly appreciated. The team consists of 4 people with the same passion: creating the best product for a satisfied customer. You work on various projects simultaneously, so the ability to prioritize is vital.

Responsibilities

Development of new production test equipment.

Make a test plan, together with the R&D-Engineer;

Order the test equipment (electronic loads, power supplies, text-fixture, etc.)

Make wiring schematic(s) of the test setup;

Wire the tester (or let someone else do that);

Mount and wire the equipment in a 19” rack (or let someone else do that);

Develop the test sequence in NI Teststand, using NI LabVIEW or other plugins like .Net, Python, etc.

Maintenance and support of already running test equipment. This support might be urgent, leading to longer hours in rare cases.

Analyze the test results like First Pass Yield.

Help further to improve the results and effectiveness of our testers.

Communication with internal and external stakeholders (R&D, Operations and production facilities in Asia).

Requirements: Skills

Higher degree in the direction of Electrical Engineering or similar;

Good social and communication skills;

Living close to Groningen or willing to move to Groningen, the Netherlands;

Mechanical skills;

Knowledge of Teststand and Labview;

Speaking and writing the English language fluently;

An independent and senior way of working.

Knowledge/experience with both software programming and hardware;

Affinity with power electronics would be a plus;

Willingness to travel once or twice a year to Asia. This is always planned far upfront and in consultation with the employee.

What we offer:

32-40 hour contract;

A flat organizational structure;

Opportunity to take courses;

A competitive salary;

A personal end-of-year bonus and company result bonus;

Flexible working times;

Direct employment with Victron Energy.
