Senior Project Engineer

Position Summary:

The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for managing the engineering and technical delivery of complex infrastructure and technology projects from project initiation through final handover. The role provides technical leadership across multidisciplinary engineering teams, ensuring all engineering activities are coordinated, technically compliant, and executed in accordance with project specifications, contractual obligations, quality standards, applicable authority regulations, and approved project schedules.

The position acts as the primary technical interface between the Project Manager, client representatives, consultants, authorities, subcontractors, vendors, and internal engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

Engineering Management

• Lead all technical engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review contract documents, technical specifications, IFC drawings, BOQs, design calculations, and engineering deliverables.
• Ensure engineering solutions comply with project requirements, applicable international standards, and local authority regulations.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities including civil, electrical, communications, networking, ICT, and ELV systems.
• Identify engineering risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Provide technical leadership to project engineers, CAD engineers, subcontractors, and specialist vendors.

Design & Technical Coordination

• Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, inspection requests, RFIs, technical queries, and engineering calculations.
• Coordinate engineering interfaces between various disciplines to eliminate design conflicts.
• Ensure timely resolution of design comments raised by consultants, clients, and authorities.
• Review value engineering opportunities.
• Support detailed engineering, system integration design, and construction planning.

Procurement & Vendor Management

• Review technical compliance of equipment, materials, and vendor solutions.
• Participate in technical evaluations of suppliers and subcontractors.
• Coordinate FAT where applicable.
• Monitor vendor engineering deliverables and manufacturing schedules.

Construction Support

• Provide technical guidance during construction.
• Resolve engineering issues arising during implementation.
• Conduct technical inspections and verify installation quality.
• Ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Implement QA/QC procedures.
• Participate in design reviews and quality audits.
• Ensure engineering documentation is maintained.
• Verify compliance with authority approvals.

Testing, Commissioning & Handover

• Lead engineering support during testing and commissioning.
• Coordinate system integration.
• Review commissioning documentation.
• Support project handover and DLP activities.

Reporting & Stakeholder Management

• Prepare engineering reports.
• Attend project review meetings.
• Coordinate with consultants, authorities, subcontractors and clients.
• Escalate technical risks.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of ICT, ELV, communications infrastructure and system integration.
• AutoCAD and MS Project/Primavera proficiency.
• UAE Driving Licence preferred.

Duration: This is a fixed-term contract position for a period of 6 to 12 months, depending on project requirements.
