This position reports to:

Service Manager __

Your role and responsibilities.

In this role, you will take ownership of developing, implementing, and managing a service‑driven account strategy focused on maximizing plant availability, optimizing asset performance, and ensuring the long-term reliability of our customers’ automation systems. Your focus is on keeping our customers’ plant and asset automation performing at its peak—delivering reliable service when needed, optimizing lifecycle value, and leading modernization initiatives that keep their operations future‑ready.

You will leverage your commercial and technical expertise to drive the creation and execution of comprehensive account plans, aligning growth actions with customer priorities and ABB’s strategic objectives. Day to day, you will nurture strong, long-term customer relationships and act as the primary point of coordination for all commercial and service-related activities. You will lead internal account teams—across Sales, Service, Operations, and support functions—to ensure seamless collaboration and the delivery of an exceptional customer experience.

Additionally, you will manage the commercial lifecycle of active contracts, oversee renewals and expansions, maintain a healthy opportunity pipeline across ABB’s Automation Solutions portfolio, and proactively drive resolution of customer issues through effective communication and structured follow‑up.

This role is contributing to our ABB Automation Service and Modernization Business in Benelux. Your focus area will be The Netherlands, targeting on the Oil & Gas and Chemical segment.

You will be accountable for:

  • Driving customer value through operational insight, proactive engagement, and strong cross-functional collaboration, ensuring ABB’s services and solutions directly support the customer’s performance goals.
  • Developing a thorough understanding of the customer’s business drivers, operational priorities, and market environment, and translating these insights into concrete opportunities for ABB.
  • Defining, proposing, and securing sales and service targets for the account, and ensuring achievement through a structured follow‑up process.
  • Creating measurable added value for both the customer and ABB by ensuring a coordinated, consistent, and customer‑centric sales and service approach.
  • Ensuring the effective application of ABB’s standardized Marketing and Sales processes, tools, and governance frameworks for the account, driving consistency, transparency, and excellence in execution.

Qualifications for the role

  • You are passionate about building long-term customer relationships and driving operational excellence, and you are innovative around service contract development and value-based solution selling.
  • You are highly skilled in developing strategic account plans and achieving measurable growth within the Oil & Gas and Chemical segments in The Netherlands.
  • You are experienced in managing a multidisciplinary key account team, consisting of various internal ABB stakeholders, support functions, specialists, and other contributors, ensuring coordinated execution and alignment with customer expectations.
