Job description

As TIG Welder at NTS Singapore you will specialize in Stainless Steel and Carbon Steel precision sheet-metal fabrication and welded assemblies, producing high-quality welds to engineering, dimensional, quality, and cosmetic standards.

Perform precision TIG (GTAW) welding on Stainless Steel and Carbon Steel or Aluminium components, including thin sheet-metal, frames, brackets, structures, and welded assemblies

Interpret engineering drawings and welding specifications, set appropriate welding parameters, and ensure accurate fit-up, dimensional control, weld quality, and cosmetic standards

Conduct welding, finishing, inspection, and rework as required while maintaining equipment and adhering to safety, quality, 5S, and manufacturing procedures

Furthermore, your duties are:

Perform TIG (GTAW) welding on Stainless Steel and Carbon Steel or Aluminium components, including thin sheet-metal, frames, covers, brackets, structures, and assemblies

Read and interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, dimensions, and tolerances to meet fabrication requirements

Set up TIG welding equipment and select appropriate welding parameters, joint configurations, and welding sequences

Prepare, fit, align, clamp, and tack components using appropriate jigs and fixtures to maintain dimensional accuracy

Control heat input and welding sequence to minimize distortion; produce welds meeting penetration, strength, profile, and cosmetic standards

Identify and prevent welding defects; perform grinding, blending, visual inspection, and approved repair/rework as required

Maintain welding equipment, tools, and fixtures; handle parts carefully and comply with safety, quality, 5S, and manufacturing procedures

 Job requirements

2–5 years of hands-on TIG welding experience, with strong experience in Stainless Steel and Carbon Steel

Experience in precision and thin sheet-metal TIG welding is highly preferred

Able to independently set welding parameters based on material type and thickness

Good knowledge of filler materials, shielding gases, tungsten selection, welding techniques, and distortion control

Able to read and understand engineering drawings, welding symbols, dimensions, and tolerances

Proficient in using measuring tools such as Vernier calipers, measuring tapes, squares, and gauges

Able to produce clean, consistent, cosmetically acceptable welds and work independently with minimal supervision
