Chief Accountant (Events Background) | 15-18k Monthly Salary

The Chief Accountant oversees the entire accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and strong internal controls. The role leads and develops the accounting team and acts as the primary liaison with external auditors and tax authorities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and ensure timely month-end and year-end close
• Ensure financial statements are prepared accurately and in accordance with IFRS / local GAAP
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team (Senior Accountant, General Accountant, AP)
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, statutory filings, and other regulatory requirements
• Serve as primary point of contact for external auditors and tax authorities
• Review and strengthen internal controls, identifying and closing control gaps
• Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and payment runs before finalization
• Support the Finance Manager in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
• Monitor and report on the company's payables, receivables, and overall financial position

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
• Professional qualification: CA / ACCA / CPA / CMA (preferred)
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, tax regulations, and internal control frameworks
• Proven leadership and team management capability

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

6-10 years of progressive accounting experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or team-lead capacity.

SOFTWARE / SYSTEMS (ORACLE / SAP)

• ERP: Oracle Financials (advanced) or SAP FI/CO (advanced)
• Advanced MS Excel and financial reporting tools
