IT Support Engineer - 3CX / VoIP

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on 3CX / VoIP & Systems Administrator to manage and support business-critical communication and IT infrastructure. The role will focus on 3CX, VoIP, SIP technologies, system administration and enterprise IT operations, with responsibility for implementation, troubleshooting, optimisation, security and ongoing support.

The ideal candidate will have strong practical experience managing VoIP environments, a security-first mindset, and the ability to confidently support critical communication systems while working closely with business and technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

VoIP / 3CX Administration

• Manage enterprise VoIP infrastructure across design, implementation, stabilisation and ongoing support.
• Provide L1 and L2 support for VoIP and communication systems.
• Lead 3CX/VoIP projects from requirements analysis and solution design through implementation, production rollout and operational support.
• Deploy, configure and optimise 3CX systems in virtualised environments.
• Design and maintain High Availability (HA) and backup strategies.
• Harden VoIP infrastructure against security threats and proactively identify and remediate operational and security weaknesses.
• Troubleshoot SIP trunks, extensions, call routing, call quality and other telephony-related issues.
• Work closely with business teams to understand technical requirements and deliver effective solutions.
• Support API integrations and workflow automation related to the 3CX platform.

System Administration

• Administer and support Microsoft Office 365 environments.
• Manage Windows Server, Active Directory, user administration and endpoint support.
• Support voice, networking and wireless infrastructure.
• Perform system administration, hardware/software troubleshooting and enterprise IT operations.
• Work with IT service management processes and ticketing systems.

Required Experience & Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with 3CX, VoIP and SIP technologies.
• Experience supporting enterprise VoIP and communication infrastructure.
• Proven experience providing L1/L2 technical support.
• Experience with 3CX deployment, configuration, optimisation and troubleshooting.
• Experience working with virtualised environments, HA and backup solutions.
• Strong understanding of SIP, call routing, extensions, trunks and call quality troubleshooting.
• Experience with Microsoft Office 365, Windows Server and Active Directory.
• Good knowledge of networking, wireless and voice infrastructure.
• Strong system administration and hardware/software troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with ITSM processes and ticketing systems.
• Experience with API integrations and workflow automation is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of IT and infrastructure security with a proactive, security-first approach.
