Job description

Job Purpose

Support the Record to Report (R2R) function within Finance Shared Services by ensuring timely close, ownership of reconciliations, and a robust balance sheet substantiation process. This role maintains the integrity of Modon Communities' financial statements by managing fixed assets, lease accounting, and general journals — while embedding best practices in governance, efficiency, and compliance.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Month-End Close: Manage end-to-end monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes; ensure accuracy, timeliness, and IFRS compliance
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Own bank reconciliations (BRS), intercompany (IC) reconciliations, and all balance sheet accounts, resolving variances
  • Balance Sheet Substantiation: Support a structured substantiation framework to detect potential misstatements and maintain a healthy balance sheet across all entities
  • Fixed Assets & Leases: Maintain the fixed asset register — capitalization, depreciation, impairment testing, and disposals; manage IFRS 16 lease accounting including ROU assets and liabilities
  • General Journals: Prepare journals with proper approvals, documentation, and policy compliance
  • Audit Readiness: Provide complete, audit-ready reconciliation and fixed asset files; support internal and external audits
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with Financial Control, FP&A, and Treasury to validate balances and align reporting
  • Best Practices & Team Player: Support standardization of R2R processes and reporting packs; drive automation and system adoption (Oracle Fusion)

Education & Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
  • Professional certification: CA, CPA, or ACCA (required)

Experience

  • 5–8 years' experience in finance operations, with exposure to R2R, GL, or controllership roles in large or diversified organizations
  • Strong expertise in fixed assets, lease accounting (IFRS 16), reconciliations, and journal control
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (Oracle Fusion preferred) and advanced Excel/Power BI

Competencies

  • Technical knowledge of IFRS and financial control requirements
  • Governance mindset with the ability to sustain a rigorous reconciliation and substantiation process
  • Analytical and detail-oriented, proactive in identifying risks and issues
  • Excellent team coordination skills to drive collaboration and achieve high-performance outcomes
