Job Title: Digital Character Production Manager (1 Position)

About the Job

We are seeking an organized, technically informed, and creatively driven Digital Character Production Manager to plan, coordinate, and manage the end-to-end production of digital characters, AI characters, digital humans, avatars, and virtual identities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for turning creative and technical concepts into structured production plans and ensuring that character projects move efficiently from concept and design through modeling, rigging, animation, performance, AI integration, testing, and final delivery. This is a hands-on interdisciplinary production role working closely with character designers, 3D artists, animators, technical artists, AI specialists, developers, writers, motion capture teams, and creative directors.

The role requires strong production management skills combined with a practical understanding of digital character pipelines and emerging technologies.

Responsibilities

Manage the end-to-end production lifecycle of digital characters, from initial concept and pre-production through development, testing, refinement, and final delivery.

Translate creative concepts, character briefs, narrative requirements, and technical specifications into clear production plans and actionable tasks.

Develop and maintain production schedules, milestones, priorities, dependencies, and delivery timelines.

Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including character designers, concept artists, 3D modelers, texture artists, riggers, animators, technical artists, AI specialists, developers, writers, and performance teams.

Establish and maintain efficient digital character production pipelines across modeling, texturing, rigging, animation, motion capture, facial performance, voice, AI behavior, and real-time integration.

Track the progress of multiple characters and production stages while identifying bottlenecks, dependencies, risks, and resource constraints.

Coordinate character development for digital humans, virtual characters, AI personas, avatars, virtual performers, and interactive characters.

Work closely with creative and narrative teams to ensure that character design, personality, appearance, behavior, performance, and storytelling remain aligned throughout production.

Coordinate the integration of character assets into real-time engines and interactive environments.

Collaborate with technical teams on Unreal Engine, Unity, or comparable platforms to ensure production assets meet technical and performance requirements.

Coordinate motion capture, facial capture, voice recording, animation, and other performance-production requirements where applicable.

Establish quality-control processes for character models, rigs, animation, facial expressions, textures, performance data, AI behavior, and real-time implementation.

Review production outputs and coordinate feedback, revisions, approvals, and version management across teams.

Maintain production documentation including character specifications, asset lists, task trackers, technical requirements, production briefs, and delivery standards.

Manage external artists, studios, freelancers, technology vendors, and production partners when required.

Monitor project resources, production costs, schedules, and deliverables, escalating major risks and delays when necessary.

Facilitate regular production meetings, reviews, stand-ups, and milestone evaluations.

Identify opportunities to improve workflows through automation, procedural systems, AI-assisted production, reusable assets, and standardized pipelines.

Coordinate testing of digital characters across different platforms, devices, environments, and interaction scenarios.

Ensure that final character assets are properly documented, versioned, organized, and prepared for deployment or further development.

Contribute to the development of scalable production frameworks for future generations of digital characters and AI-powered virtual identities.

Qualifications

Minimum BA/MA in Animation, Film, Game Development, Digital Media, Computer Graphics, Virtual Production, Interactive Media, Project Management, or a related field; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.

At least 3–5 years of professional experience in digital character production, animation, games, virtual production, VFX, digital humans, immersive media, or a related production environment.

Demonstrable experience managing multidisciplinary creative and technical production teams.

Strong understanding of digital character pipelines, including modeling, texturing, rigging, animation, facial animation, motion capture, and real-time integration.

Practical familiarity with Unreal Engine, Unity, Maya, Blender, MotionBuilder, or comparable production tools.

Experience managing production schedules, milestones, task dependencies, deliverables, and project priorities.

Understanding of digital humans, AI characters, avatars, virtual identities, or interactive character systems.

Ability to communicate effectively with both creative and technical professionals and translate between creative requirements and technical production needs.

Strong organizational and project management skills with excellent attention to detail.

Experience with project management, task tracking, documentation, version control, and production reporting tools.

Ability to identify production risks, resolve workflow problems, and keep projects moving under changing requirements.

Understanding of animation, performance capture, real-time rendering, character technology, or AI-assisted production workflows.

Experience coordinating external vendors, freelancers, studios, or technology partners is an asset.

Strong problem-solving, communication, negotiation, and team leadership skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects or production stages simultaneously while maintaining quality and deadlines.

Fluency in English; additional languages are an asset.

Portfolio, production case studies, or examples of digital character, animation, virtual production, game, VFX, or immersive projects managed by the candidate.

What We Offer

The opportunity to manage the production of next-generation digital characters, AI characters, digital humans, avatars, and virtual identities.

A highly interdisciplinary working environment combining AI, animation, digital art, virtual production, real-time technology, storytelling, and immersive media.

The opportunity to work with emerging character technologies, AI-assisted production workflows, motion capture, real-time engines, and interactive systems.

A central role in building scalable and repeatable production pipelines for digital character development.
