Fajr Interiors has been delivering office fitouts and villa renovations in Dubai since 2011. We are looking for a Site Engineer to take day-to-day ownership of our villa projects — running the trades, holding the programme, and reporting what is actually happening on site.

NON-NEGOTIABLE REQUIREMENT

Minimum 5 years as a Site Engineer on villa renovation or villa fitout projects in the UAE. We work in occupied and handed-over villas with live neighbours, community rules, existing services and finishes that have to be right the first time. Experience limited to towers, warehouses or new-build does not transfer. CVs without UAE villa experience will not be shortlisted.

EXECUTION

- Run daily site operations across civil and interior fitout works: demolition, blockwork, plaster, screed, waterproofing, tiling, gypsum partitions and ceilings, joinery, painting and final finishes.

- Set out and check works against approved drawings, specifications and the finishes schedule.

- Coordinate MEP interfaces ahead of closing works and resolve clashes before execution.

- Sequence subcontractors and suppliers so trades are not standing on each other.

- Raise site queries, RFIs and variation notices in writing, early.

- Hold quality through first-fix checks, snagging and de-snagging, to handover.

- Enforce site safety, permits, community rules and Dubai Municipality requirements.

REPORTING AND LABOUR CONTROL (the part we care most about)

- Daily manpower report: who was on site, on which villa, on which activity, for how many hours. Accurate and same day.

- Time cards and timesheets for direct labour and gang teams, submitted on time and reconciled against attendance. These feed payroll and project costing.

- Plan the next day's manpower before leaving site, with labour allocated to activity and issued to the team.

- Track productivity against plan — output per man-day, hours booked against progress achieved — and flag drift early.

- Daily and weekly progress reports with photographs and percentage complete by activity.

- Material requisitions, delivery records and site consumption, ordered ahead of need and reconciled against use.

- Site measurement and quantity takeoff to support valuations and variations.

- Maintain the site file: inspection records, NCRs, site instructions and snag registers.

We want someone who protects the team's time. Idle labour, repeated trips, and waiting on materials that should have been ordered last week are the things we expect you to see coming and design out.

REQUIREMENTS

- Minimum 5 years on UAE villa renovation or villa fitout projects (essential).

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture preferred; diploma with strong villa site experience considered.

- Sound knowledge of civil works and interior fitout execution, materials and workmanship standards.

- Able to read architectural, structural and MEP drawings and mark up as-built changes.

- Disciplined reporting habits and genuine competence in Excel. AutoCAD and MS Office as standard.

- Clear written and spoken English. Hindi, Urdu or Malayalam useful on site; Arabic a plus.

- Confident managing subcontractors to programme.

- UAE driving licence strongly preferred.
