Civil QA/QC Engineer

Job Summary:

To provide visionary and technical leadership for the Quality Assurance and Quality Control function across all projects, ensuring that construction quality consistently meets or exceeds design intent, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. Director shall drive a culture of excellence and discipline where every project delivered under his leadership reflects top-tier workmanship, material integrity, and compliance with the company’s high standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review IFC drawings, specifications, BOQs, and contract documents for quality requirements
• Prepare, review, and implement Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) for all construction activities
• Review and approve method statements from a quality and constructability perspective
• Inspect reinforcement works (size, spacing, cover, laps) prior to concrete casting
• Inspect formwork systems for alignment, level, stability, and release agents
• Monitor concrete works including batching, delivery, slump testing, casting, curing, and cube testing
• Verify concrete test results and take corrective actions for non-conforming results
• Inspect masonry works for alignment, level, mortar mix, and curing
• Inspect waterproofing works (basements, roofs, wet areas) including mockups and water tests
• Inspect plastering, screeding, and tiling works for thickness, flatness, levels, and finishes
• Inspect installation of doors, windows, glazing, and façade elements
• Inspect painting and finishing works for surface preparation, material compliance, and workmanship
• Inspect MEP interfaces affecting civil and architectural works and coordinate with MEP teams
• Verify material deliveries against approved submittals and conduct material inspections
• Witness laboratory and field tests for materials (soil, concrete, blocks, tiles, waterproofing, etc.)
• Ensure works are carried out in accordance with approved shop drawings and method statements
• Raise NCRs for non-conforming works and monitor corrective and preventive actions
• Conduct re-inspections to verify closure of NCRs and quality observations
• Prepare daily, weekly, and activity-based inspection reports
• Maintain quality records, checklists, and traceability documentation
• Coordinate consultant inspections and obtain approvals at each construction stage
• Participate in snagging, de-snagging, and final inspections prior to handover
• Verify as-built drawings and support preparation of handover and close-out documents

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related discipline.
• Proven track record of delivering at least one full construction project in a QA/QC Engineer role, from mobilization through to close-out.
• Minimum 3 years of UAE-based site experience.
• Sound technical knowledge of quality control requirements for both structural and finishing works.
• Hands-on experience in the handover process of a building project, including snagging, close-out documentation, and client acceptance.
• Prior experience on hotel or hospitality projects is a strong advantage.
• Awareness QA systems and process controls, including technical submittals, work inspection requests (WIRs), and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively across site teams, subcontractors, and consultants.
