Job description

We are looking for a skilled and hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to join the production team of a fast-growing company operating across multiple markets. You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of the facility's equipment and infrastructure, with particular ownership of refrigeration and HVAC systems that are critical to day-to-day production.

In this role, you will oversee equipment installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and breakdown response across the facility. You will lead a team of technicians, manage external contractors and suppliers, and ensure critical systems remain operational and compliant. You will also take ownership of the maintenance budget and asset strategy, proactively addressing equipment risks before they impact production.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the installation, commissioning, and handover of new or upgraded kitchen and production equipment
  • Oversee and prioritize the work of the facility's maintenance and technician team
  • Develop and manage preventive maintenance schedules across production, refrigeration, HVAC, and facility equipment
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and coordinate repairs to minimize production downtime
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, equipment records, service histories, and inspection documentation
  • Own the performance and reliability of refrigeration and HVAC systems across the facility
  • Ensure refrigeration and cold-storage systems consistently support required cold-chain and food-safety standards
  • Work closely with the Quality team on equipment issues that may have food-safety or product-quality implications
  • Manage the facility's maintenance budget and monitor spending against planned requirements
  • Maintain an accurate asset register and plan equipment replacement and capital expenditure ahead of end-of-life
  • Build and manage a reliable network of qualified contractors and specialist maintenance vendors
  • Negotiate and manage service agreements, SLAs, callout requirements, and response times with external providers
  • Lead root-cause investigations into recurring equipment failures and implement long-term engineering or process improvements
  • Ensure mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and facility systems meet required safety and regulatory standards
  • Keep all required equipment certifications, inspections, and compliance records up to date
  • Identify potential equipment and infrastructure risks and proactively address them before they affect production
  • Work closely with production and kitchen leadership to ensure maintenance activities are planned with minimal operational disruption
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and reliable working environment across the facility

Requirements

  • 5-6 years of experience in maintenance, engineering, or facilities management within a food production, manufacturing, industrial, or similar environment
  • Strong hands-on experience with industrial equipment maintenance
  • Experience with refrigeration and HVAC systems is strongly preferred
  • Experience leading equipment installation and commissioning projects
  • Previous experience managing or supervising a team of technicians
  • Strong knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance practices
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment failures and lead effective root-cause investigations
  • Experience managing external contractors, maintenance vendors, and service agreements
  • Comfortable managing maintenance budgets, assets, and capital replacement planning
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and facility safety requirements
  • Experience working in an environment where equipment uptime and production continuity are critical
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and record-keeping
  • Proactive approach to identifying and preventing equipment failures
  • Strong communication and team-management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment where quick response to operational issues is required
