Job description

Overview: Kinetics Group is seeking a Junior Estimation Engineer to support cost estimation, material take-offs, and technical documentation for sheet metal fabrication projects. The role involves assisting with drawing reviews, quotation analysis, supplier coordination, and material planning while gaining hands-on exposure to fabrication processes and project estimation activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and project requirements to assist in preparing cost estimates, material take-offs, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
  • Assist in preparing sheet metal nesting plans and manufacturing cost calculations for fabrication projects.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to obtain quotations and support material procurement activities.
  • Assist in preparing commercial comparisons, cost analyses, and estimation documentation.
  • Coordinate with production and planning teams to support material availability and project schedules.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, estimation reports, and project records.
  • Support continuous improvement in estimation, material planning, and cost optimization processes.

Skills Attributes Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 2–3 years of experience in estimation, sheet metal fabrication, steel fabrication, or a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes, material estimation, and manufacturing methods.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and familiarity with sheet metal nesting software.
  • Experience preparing or assisting with BOQs, material take-offs, and supplier enquiries.
  • Knowledge of acoustic products such as acoustic louvers, sound attenuators, silencers, or acoustic enclosures is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
