Job Description
The College of Engineering and IT at the University of Dubai invites applications for a highly motivated Lab Engineer to support its Electrical Engineering programs. Candidates should hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, or a related field, with hands-on experience in conducting laboratory sessions, supporting faculty and students, troubleshooting hardware and software, and working with electrical and electronic circuits, power systems, electrical machines, renewable energy systems, communication systems, signal processing, instrumentation, and related engineering laboratory environments.

Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Communication Engineering, Power Engineering, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Practical experience in electrical and computer engineering laboratories, including installation, configuration, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment, hardware, and software.
- Experience supporting laboratory sessions and assisting faculty and students with technical and experimental activities.
- Knowledge of electrical and electronic circuits, power systems, electrical machines, renewable energy systems, communication systems, signal processing, instrumentation, embedded systems, and related engineering software and tools.
- Familiarity with laboratory safety procedures, measurement equipment, and engineering simulation tools is an advantage.
- Relevant academic or industry experience is an advantage.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
Desirable Attributes
The ideal candidate will also demonstrate:
- Strong hands-on technical and troubleshooting skills in electrical engineering laboratory environments.
- Experience with electrical and electronic circuits, power systems, electrical machines, renewable energy systems, communication systems, signal processing, instrumentation, embedded systems, and engineering simulation tools.
- Ability to support faculty and students during practical laboratory and theory sessions.
- Experience in installing, configuring, maintaining, testing, and upgrading laboratory equipment, hardware, and software.
- Ability to manage laboratory resources, equipment, inventory, safety procedures, and technical documentation.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to supporting innovative teaching, practical projects, and emerging technologies in electrical and computer engineering.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Prepare, configure, and maintain Electrical and Computer Engineering laboratories, equipment, hardware, software, and related systems.
- Support and conduct laboratory sessions and provide technical assistance to faculty and students.
- Install, test, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical, electronic, communication, power, and computer engineering laboratory equipment and software.
- Assist students with practical exercises, experiments, projects, and laboratory activities.
- Support laboratories related to electrical circuits, electronics, power systems, electrical machines, renewable energy, communication systems, signal processing, instrumentation, and embedded systems.
- Maintain laboratory inventory, technical documentation, equipment records, and safety procedures.
- Support practical projects, demonstrations, workshops, and other academic activities.
- Coordinate with faculty and IT teams to ensure laboratory readiness and effective operation.
- Perform other technical and academic support duties consistent with the role.
