Job description

📍 Dubai, UAE

  • 🏢 Kuehne+Nagel
  • ⚡ Oil & Gas / Project Logistics
  • Full-time On-site

The Context Kuehne+Nagel, one of the world's leading logistics companies, is looking for an Energy Business Development Manager to join its Global Project Logistics division in Dubai. Reporting directly to the Global Head of Project Logistics Energy, this is a senior individual contributor role with significant strategic impact — responsible for generating new business across the full Oil & Gas value chain and leading major global tenders and bids. The role carries direct Gross Profit growth accountability with visibility at the highest levels of the organization.

What The Role Covers Business Development & Pipeline Management You identify new business opportunities across all segments of the Oil & Gas value chain, coordinate cross-functional teams to develop these into firm project awards, and monitor the business pipeline and success ratios. You take corrective actions in partnership with the Global Head of Project Logistics Business Development when needed, and record all opportunities in Corelog CRM.

Global Tender & Bid Leadership You lead and manage global tenders and bids for major potential customers, securing required approvals from relevant stakeholders including the IPMT. You demonstrate strong understanding of Oil & Gas major project cycles, tendering processes, and contract negotiation dynamics across a global matrixed organization.

Strategic Relationship Management You build and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders, develop business and account plans, and pursue opportunities in alignment with Key Account Owners or independently where appropriate. You engage global and regional internal stakeholders — Project Logistics Teams, Tender Management — and provide regular updates to senior leadership.

Market Analysis & Strategic Planning You analyze market potential and competitive dynamics to prioritize opportunities aligned with strategic goals, drive GP growth in line with the Project Logistics Roadmap, and foster collaboration across Project Logistics Development, Operations, Technology, and Geographic and Technical Leadership teams.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or Logistics; Master's degree preferred
  • Proven experience in Business Development, Key Account Management, or Commercial roles within Energy, Oil & Gas, EPC, or Project Logistics
  • Strong understanding of the Oil & Gas value chain and major project cycles
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex global bids and manage senior-level client engagements
  • Strong analytical and strategic planning skills with ability to build business plans and assess markets
  • Proficiency in CRM tools; high commitment to Compliance and HSE standards
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across global organizations
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally

Why This Role Stands Out - Supply Tech Nexus Take This is one of the most strategically elevated business development roles in project logistics currently active on the GCC market. Reporting to the Global Head of Project Logistics Energy at Kuehne+Nagel — a Top 3 global freight forwarder — gives this position genuine organizational reach and visibility. The Dubai base with global mandate across the full Oil & Gas value chain means exposure to the largest and most complex energy projects in the world, from ADNOC programs in the UAE to mega-projects in KSA, Iraq, and beyond. For senior project logistics commercial professionals ready to operate at global bid level, this is a defining career move.

Salary Benchmark - UAE Market (2024/2025) For an Energy BDM with proven Oil & Gas project logistics and global bid management experience, based in Dubai:

  • Base salary: AED 30,000 - 48,000/month

Performance-based bonus structures in senior BDM roles at Tier 1 forwarders typically add 30-50% on top of base salary, making total compensation highly attractive for strong performers who consistently deliver GP growth.
