Job description

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Senior Specialist Orthodontist to join our private healthcare facility. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive orthodontic assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and management for pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients.

The role requires advanced clinical expertise in managing routine and complex orthodontic cases, with proficiency in modern orthodontic techniques, fixed appliances, clear aligners, digital orthodontics, and evidence-based treatment approaches.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with dentists and other dental specialists to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while maintaining excellent clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities* Conduct comprehensive orthodontic examinations and assessments for pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients.

  • Diagnose malocclusions, dentofacial abnormalities, and other orthodontic conditions.
  • Develop individualized and evidence-based orthodontic treatment plans.
  • Manage routine and complex orthodontic cases from diagnosis through completion and retention.
  • Provide treatment using fixed braces, ceramic braces, self-ligating systems, clear aligners, removable appliances, functional appliances, and retainers.
  • Utilize digital orthodontic workflows, intraoral scanning, digital treatment planning, and relevant orthodontic technologies.
  • Review and interpret radiographs, photographs, dental models, cephalometric analyses, and other diagnostic records.
  • Monitor treatment progress and make appropriate clinical adjustments throughout treatment.
  • Manage orthodontic complications and emergencies appropriately.
  • Provide patients and families with clear information regarding treatment options, expected outcomes, risks, benefits, costs, and treatment duration.
  • Promote excellent oral hygiene and patient compliance throughout orthodontic treatment.
  • Collaborate with general dentists, pediatric dentists, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, periodontists, prosthodontists, and other healthcare professionals for multidisciplinary cases.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential clinical records.
  • Ensure compliance with infection-control standards, professional ethics, and applicable UAE healthcare regulations.
  • Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing professional development.
  • Support and mentor junior dentists and clinical staff where required.
  • Contribute to the development and growth of orthodontic services within the facility.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of advances in orthodontic techniques, materials, technology, and evidence-based practice.

Requirements

  • BDS, DDS, DMD, or equivalent Dental Degree from a recognized and accredited institution.
  • Recognized postgraduate qualification/specialization in Orthodontics such as MDS, MSc, residency, or equivalent.
  • AMERICAN BOARD doctors preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of post-specialization clinical experience in Orthodontics, preferably within a private healthcare or multispecialty dental facility.
  • Strong experience in comprehensive orthodontic diagnosis, treatment planning, and case management.
  • Demonstrated expertise in fixed orthodontics and clear aligner therapy.
  • Experience with digital orthodontics, intraoral scanning, digital treatment planning, and modern orthodontic technologies is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of contemporary orthodontic techniques and evidence-based clinical practice.
  • Experience managing complex orthodontic and multidisciplinary cases.
  • Excellent clinical judgment, attention to detail, and treatment-planning skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with excellent patient-management abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary dental team.
  • Commitment to high standards of patient safety, clinical quality, ethics, and patient-centered care.
  • Proficiency in English; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
  • Candidates must meet all applicable UAE licensing, credentialing, and professional requirements.
