Data Engineer

As a Data Engineer, you'll play a key role in building the pipelines, lakehouse components, and data products that power the bank's operations, analytics, regulatory reporting, and AI capabilities. Working closely with Data Architecture and AI Engineering teams, you'll help establish a trusted, governed, and AI-ready data platform from day one.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate batch, streaming, and CDC ingestion pipelines across core banking, payments, and transactional systems.

• Develop scalable data products, lakehouse components, and data marts using modern cloud-based data engineering practices.

• Deliver AI-ready datasets, feature pipelines, vector pipelines, and retrieval corpora to support AI and machine learning use cases.

• Implement data quality controls, data contracts, metadata management, and lineage across all pipelines.

• Build and maintain regulatory and management reporting feeds supporting CBUAE reporting and IFRS 9 requirements.

• Contribute to engineering excellence through automated testing, CI/CD, observability, monitoring, and AI-assisted development practices.

Requirements

• 6+ years of hands-on Data Engineering experience, ideally within banking, fintech, or another highly regulated environment.

• Experience building and operating cloud-based data pipelines and lakehouse platforms such as Databricks or equivalent.

• Strong experience with streaming platforms, CDC ingestion, and event-driven data architectures.

• Hands-on experience building data pipelines supporting AI, machine learning, feature stores, vector databases, or retrieval systems.

• Strong knowledge of Python, SQL, Spark, dbt, Kafka, orchestration tools, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience with modern AI-assisted development tools and software engineering best practices.
