Operations and Maintenance Technician

Are you an experienced technician with a background in electrical engineering and a passion for maintaining critical building services installations? We are looking for a Maintenance & Operations Technician to join a dedicated on-site team in Leiden, responsible for ensuring the reliable operation, maintenance, and compliance of technical installations within a highly regulated environment. Communication, administration, and technical expertise all play an important role in this position.

Our client within the Sustainable Energy & Grids business unit is dedicated to the energy supply of the future. There, the energy transition and digital transformation come together. Whether it involves integrating sustainably generated energy, implementing an Energy Management System for Smart Grids, or electrifying transport and logistics, our team of independent experts works daily to bring projects to life. They undertake various medium- and high-voltage projects and help clients connect battery storage systems and solar parks, transition to electric mobility, and more.

Their services include consulting, design, implementation, and maintenance.

This is what you will do:

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on building services installations.
• Carry out technical management and maintenance activities for electrical systems.
• Support maintenance activities related to HVAC and cooling systems.
• Ensure accurate administrative documentation and maintenance records.
• Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams regarding maintenance activities.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors on site.
• Identify opportunities to improve reliability and maintenance processes.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for breakdown and emergency support

This is what you bring:

• MBO Level 4 qualification in Electrical Engineering, Installation Technology, or a related discipline.
• Experience in maintenance and management of technical installations.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong administrative and organisational abilities.
• Good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
• Strong technical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• VCA-VOL certification or willingness to obtain it.
