Product Designer — CTRM Platform (physical oil trading

A lot of designers can draw a beautiful dense interface. Very few can stand in a room with a trader who has done the job for twenty years, an executive sponsor with strong aesthetic opinions and no daily use of the product, and a delivery date — and come out with a decision that holds.

That second thing is the job. You own the design system for this platform: you build it, you decide its rules, and you defend it to business users who will regularly tell you they wanted something else. Sometimes you hold the line. Sometimes they are right and you change it in the room. Knowing which is which is the skill we are hiring for.

We are building the system an international oil-products trader will run its business on — contract to settlement, pricing formulas, costs accumulating across vessels, rail, trucks and storage, invoicing, inventory, hedging. Six roles look at the same cargo and need to see almost entirely different things. Most of the code is written by coding agents; design and decision-making are our constraint, not delivery capacity.

What you will design

- Dense role workplaces: positions, exposure, where every cargo physically is, what was earned and lost

- P&L across a matrix — deal, vessel, lot, counterparty, company — where the same number has to reconcile in every direction

- Movement over time: routes, vessels, storage, the state of a shipment on a given date

- Contract and invoice work where no two deals have the same terms, so a fixed form is not an option

- The AI layer — the system pre-fills what it can infer and asks only what it cannot, showing its reasoning and its suggested answer. Nobody has a settled pattern for that. You design it

Tables, timelines, maps, states, layers. There is nowhere to hide behind whitespace here.

What we need

- 5+ years in product design on large connected systems, where changing one screen moves three others. Not marketing sites, not single-purpose consumer apps

- You have owned a design system, or been the person who decided its rules. Working inside someone else's is a different skill and not what this seat needs

- **You can sell a design decision to a business audience.** We treat this as a hard requirement, not a soft skill: explain to a trader why the screen works this way, hold the position when it is right, concede when it is not, on the spot

- **AI in your production workflow — obligatory.** Generating and comparing many variants, producing at a rate not achievable by hand, using models to attack your own work before a stakeholder does

- A portfolio of complex interfaces — dashboards, tables, forms, dense states — presented with the constraints that produced them, not just the pictures

- Fluent Russian; English good enough to present and argue in a client demo

Not for you if your portfolio is beautiful and you cannot say what constraint produced each decision, you need the research finished and the flows settled before you can start, you want to inherit a design system rather than build one, you go quiet when a senior business user says "I don't like it", or your instinct on a hard screen is to remove information rather than organise it.
