Job description

Job title: Salesforce Developer
Reports to: Director of Strategy, Automation and Systems
Location: Dubai, UAE — on-site
Contract: Full-time

Purpose of the role

To own the custom code, integrations and technical architecture of our Salesforce platform. You will take ownership of a codebase built by an external partner, make it maintainable, and become the person we rely on to build what configuration alone cannot deliver.

You will be the senior technical voice in a small team. There is no one above you on the platform to hide behind, and no one below you to delegate to. That is the trade — full ownership, direct access to the decision-maker, and no committee between you and shipping.

Key responsibilities

Development

  • Design, build and maintain Apex classes, triggers, batch and queueable jobs, and scheduled processes, following a documented trigger framework.
  • Build Lightning Web Components where declarative tooling cannot meet the requirement — and push back where it can.
  • Write and maintain meaningful test coverage. Coverage that exists to satisfy the deployment gate rather than to catch regressions is not acceptable.
  • Refactor and retire inherited technical debt on an agreed, prioritised schedule rather than opportunistically.

Integrations

  • Own the integrations between Salesforce and our surrounding systems, including our operational and case-management platforms.
  • Build and maintain REST/SOAP integrations, named credentials, platform events and outbound messaging.
  • Own the data flow into our Power BI reporting layer.
  • Monitor integration health and build alerting for failures — we should find out from you, not from a user.

Field Service technical work

  • Extend and customise Salesforce Field Service where standard functionality falls short, including scheduling logic, mobile flows and offline behaviour.
  • Support the field mobile experience technically, including performance on poor connectivity.

Platform engineering and governance

  • Own the release pipeline: source control, sandbox strategy, deployment process, and rollback plan.
  • Define and enforce development standards, and review any code produced by external partners before it reaches production.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation and solution designs.
  • Take structured handover from our external implementation partner and reduce our dependency on them.

Working with the business

  • Turn business requirements into technical designs, and be honest about cost, risk and timeline before work starts.
  • Give realistic estimates and flag slippage early. We would rather hear bad news in week one than in week six.

Essential requirements

  • 4+ years hands-on Salesforce development in production environments.
  • Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I (PD1) — current.
  • Strong Apex: triggers, bulkification, governor limits, asynchronous processing, and the discipline to write code that survives a data load.
  • Lightning Web Components, JavaScript, HTML/CSS.
  • SOQL and SOSL, and the ability to diagnose a query performance problem.
  • Integration experience: REST/JSON, authentication patterns, error handling, retry logic.
  • Source control (Git) and a deployment toolchain — SFDX, change sets, or a CI/CD pipeline.
  • Comfortable debugging with the developer console, debug logs, setup audit trail and systematic root-cause diagnosis.

Desirable

  • Platform Developer II (PD2).
  • Salesforce Field Service development experience — high value to us.
  • Experience with a formal CI/CD pipeline (Gearset, Copado, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
  • Middleware experience (MuleSoft, Workato, Boomi or similar).
  • Experience owning a codebase inherited from a third party.
  • Data platform or BI integration experience.

The person

  • Pragmatic about build-vs-configure. The best answer is often no code at all, and you should be the first to say so.
  • Comfortable being the most senior technical person in the room and still being questioned.
  • Writes documentation without being asked twice.
  • Careful with production. You have made a serious mistake at some point and can describe what you changed afterwards.
  • Able to hold several business lines in your head at once without conflating them.

Pay: AED8,000.00 - AED15,000.00 per month

Experience:

  • Salesforce Development: 4 years (Preferred)
  • Salesforce Field Service Development: 1 year (Preferred)

Location:

  • Dubai (Required)

Work Location: In person
