Data Analyst Assistant

Gulf Associates is looking for a Data Analyst Assistant to support our commercial research and counterparty analysis. We focus on providing commercial judgment for senior decision-makers who are dealing with complex investments and partnership choices. Our work is grounded in the reality of how deals are made rather than theoretical models. Currently, we are supporting an Amsterdam-based client on an engagement that involves assessing market risks and counterparty behavior. In this fully remote role, you will help our team organize information and identify trends that help our clients make high-stakes decisions. We value evidence over long reports and are looking for someone who can help us build a clear position supported by facts.

What you will do

• Gather and organize commercial data on counterparties and market participants within the territory.
• Assist senior partners in building and maintaining databases that track real-world investment behavior.
• Verify facts and figures against primary sources to ensure our client advice is accurate and defensible.
• Help prepare preliminary charts, tables, and data visualizations for client briefings.
• Monitor regulatory updates and news that could impact the commercial standing of our clients.
• Support the drafting of internal summaries that explain complex data points in plain English.
• Collaborate with the team in a remote environment to discuss how specific data trends influence partnership decisions.
• Maintain organized records of research sources and data methodologies for every project.

What you bring

• A strong commercial curiosity about how state capital and private deals interact in the market.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets and data organization tools to manage large sets of information.
• Exceptional attention to detail: you are the type of person who notices when numbers do not align.
• Clear and direct writing skills: you can summarize a finding without using unnecessary corporate jargon.
• A recent degree or equivalent background in economics, finance, or a related field that emphasizes data interpretation.
