Who we're looking for

The Emerging Talent Specialist is responsible for delivering high‑quality emerging talent programmes, ensuring a best‑in‑class experience for graduates, interns, placement year students and apprentices. The role spans attraction, assessment, onboarding, programme development, stakeholder management and reporting, ensuring seamless execution and continuous improvement across all stages of the emerging talent lifecycle.

The team

The People & Culture (P&C) team is responsible for ensuring that Schroders maximises the return on its investment in people. We do this through the development and implementation of policies and practices that attract, reward and retain high quality employees. What you'll do

Cultivation and attraction

  • Build and deliver attraction plans for emerging talent programmes aligned to workforce needs
  • Drive diverse sourcing strategies, including partnerships, contextual recruitment approaches and platforms
  • Regularly attend external relevant industry events including careers fairs, campus presence, partnership events to represent and showcase the Schroders brand
  • Serve as the main contact with universities, suppliers, and assessment partners, managing performance and relationships to ensure effective partner delivery
  • Lead all aspects of supplier performance, SLAs, applicant interaction and renewal recommendations
  • Coordinate and attend attraction events with third‑party partners
  • Champion innovative recruitment methodologies and introduce process improvements to enhance efficiency and candidate experience
  • Develop and sustain a network of external contacts, applying industry knowledge to guide trends and innovative ways Partner with Marketing/Comms to develop EVP‑aligned messaging, content, social media and candidate communications

Selection and assessment

  • Own requisitions and run kick‑offs with hiring managers and programme collaborators
  • Design and ensure seamless assessment processes (screening, online tests, assessment centres, interviews)
  • Brief interviewers and assessors, ensuring consistent evaluation and bias mitigation
  • Manage offers and candidate feedback processes for both successful and unsuccessful candidates Track recruitment risks (drop‑off, time‑to‑hire, conversion) and adjust selection tactics accordingly

Onboarding and programme development

  • Coordinate end‑to‑end onboarding journeys, aligning induction, achievements and touchpoints
  • Devise and deliver effective keep warm strategies to mitigate reneges
  • Partner with Talent Solutions for skills identification and input into the skills curriculum build
  • Support manager capability for emerging talent development (toolkits, briefing sessions, check‑ins)
  • Build engagement activities, including alumni networks, buddy systems and career‑development workshops Provide pastoral care and structured guidance to emerging talent

Stakeholder management

  • Main point of contact for programme collaborators (Talent Acquisition, P&C BP’s, hiring managers, sponsors)
  • Participate and take a consultative approach in programme forums and governance meetings
  • Advise collaborators on guidelines in hiring, selection fairness, timelines, and EV P Build and maintain an external network of contacts, using industry insight to inform trends and innovative approaches

Reporting and governance

  • Contribute to tracking and reporting of KPIs, including attraction, diversity, pass‑through rates, offers and retention
  • Use insights to continuously refine attraction, assessment and programme design
  • Maintain process documentation and RACI structures for consistent delivery Guarantee adherence with internal policies and external regulation (data privacy, conduct, pre‑employment screening)

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need

  • Experience managing high-volume recruitment and delivering large-scale programmes, with exposure to international markets
  • Solid understanding of emerging talent recruitment, assessment and programme management
  • Excellent collaborator management, consultative and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and collaborators simultaneously
  • High attention to detail with strong organisational capability
  • Comfortable interpreting data to drive decision‑making and ongoing improvement
  • Thought-leader with a forward-thinking approach, continuously innovating, bringing fresh ideas and improved ways of working
  • Flexible and responsive to emerging trends, business needs and shifts in the emerging talent landscape
  • Agile approach, able to adapt quickly in a fast‑paced environment Resilient, maintaining focus and composure through change and challenges
