Job Summary

Lead and manage the Technical Department, including Technical Architects, Technical Interior Designers, and Draftsmen , ensuring all technical drawings and detailing are accurate, coordinated, constructible, and issued in accordance with project requirements and execution schedules.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Design Leadership

Lead the technical design development from approved design intent through detailed design, shop drawings, and issue-for-construction packages. Ensure design concepts are translated into comprehensive, accurate, coordinated, and executable technical documentation.

Constructability and Technical Detailing

Oversee technical detailing for interior fit-out works, bespoke joinery, architectural elements, façade interfaces, finishes, and custom-built elements. Review technical drawings, shop drawings, material interfaces, fixing details, and technical solutions to ensure constructability, accuracy, and quality.

Multidisciplinary Coordination

Lead technical coordination between Interior Design, Architecture, Structural, MEP, Joinery, and specialist disciplines. Identify and resolve clashes, discrepancies, missing information, and technical issues before drawings are released for procurement, production, or site execution.

Factory, Procurement & Site Coordination

Coordinate with Project, Procurement, Factory, QA/QC, and site teams to ensure approved technical information supports material procurement, joinery production, installation, and construction activities. Ensure technical solutions are practical for both factory production and site execution .

Authority & Technical Compliance

Ensure technical documentation complies with applicable UAE authority requirements, building codes, fire and life safety requirements, approved specifications, and relevant project standards.

Site Technical Support

Conduct site visits as required to verify site conditions, provide technical guidance, resolve technical and coordination issues, and ensure execution complies with approved drawings, specifications, and design intent.

Team Leadership & Performance

Lead and manage the Technical Architects, Technical Interior Designers, and Draftsmen . Allocate workload, establish priorities, review team output, monitor productivity and deadlines, and maintain required technical and drawing quality standards. Mentor and develop team members to strengthen technical capability and accountability.

Consultant, Client & Contractor Interface

Lead technical discussions with consultants, clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and specialist contractors when required. Present and resolve technical matters, coordinate approvals, and support timely project decision-making and execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Interior Design, or a related discipline .
• 12–15+ years of experience in Interior Fit-Out / Design & Build, with significant technical design and detailing experience.
• Minimum 5 years in a technical leadership or technical management role .
• Strong UAE experience in high-end interior fit-out and Design & Build projects .
• Expert knowledge of shop drawings, technical detailing, joinery detailing, construction methods, materials, and coordination .
• Strong understanding of MEP interfaces and multidisciplinary coordination .
• Advanced AutoCAD capability; Revit/BIM knowledge is an advantage.
• Proven ability to manage a technical team and multiple projects/drawing packages simultaneously.
