Job Summary

The Design Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering design projects from concept through completion. The role works closely with internal teams, designers, consultants, contractors, vendors, and key stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with approved design standards, quality requirements, and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage design projects from initial briefing, concept development, and design approvals through execution and project handover.
• Develop project schedules, milestones, budgets, and resource plans.
• Coordinate with architects, interior designers, engineers, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
• Review design drawings, specifications, material selections, and technical submissions to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Monitor project progress and ensure design deliverables are completed according to agreed timelines.
• Facilitate design review meetings and follow up on actions, decisions, and outstanding issues.
• Ensure designs meet functional, operational, aesthetic, safety, and quality requirements.
• Manage design changes and evaluate their impact on cost, schedule, and project scope.
• Coordinate approvals from management, clients, authorities, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Identify project risks, design conflicts, and potential delays and develop appropriate mitigation plans.
• Monitor project budgets and assist with cost control, value engineering, and procurement decisions.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, schedules, approvals, reports, meeting minutes, and design records.
• Conduct site visits to monitor design implementation and ensure work is aligned with approved drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate snagging, final inspections, and project handover activities.
• Provide regular progress reports and project updates to management.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, applicable regulations, design standards, and health and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Project Management, or a related field.
• Project Management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of design development, construction processes, materials, and technical documentation.

Experience

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in design, project management, architecture, interior design, fit-out, construction, or a related field.
• Proven experience managing multiple design projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience working with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and external stakeholders.
