As Retail Platforms & Product Manager , you will be responsible for defining, building and continuously evolving dnata's standardised inflight retail technology platform end-to-end, including product strategy, in-house and partner-led development, the platform's data model and integration layer, and overall delivery, ensuring all components work seamlessly together to provide a reliable and scalable solution that supports retail operations across multiple airline customers. The role is based full-time in our Dubai office and will include occasional business travel to international dnata stations.
In this role, you will:
- Define and lead the Data, Analytics and Technology Innovation roadmap, partnering with Enterprise Data & Analytics and IT to deliver robust data platforms, automated pipelines, effective data governance, and Master Data Management.
- Be accountable for the product strategy, roadmap, governance and continuous evolution of the inflight retail technology platform, determining for each component whether it is built in-house, developed by a partner or sourced as an off-the-shelf solution, and driving performance across the resulting portfolio.
- Define and governs the platform's standardised data model Canonical Data Model (CDM) and integration platform (iPaaS), ensuring all owned applications, partner solutions and airline programme integrations conform to a single, coherent data and integration standard, in coordination with group functions including cyber security, infrastructure and data governance.
- Lead the design, development and ongoing management of in-house platform components and applications, working across group engineering teams to deliver agreed architecture, security and quality standards.
- Lead the selection, implementation and governance of third-party technology solutions supporting the inflight retail platform, in line with group procurement, legal and financial requirements.
- Oversee commercial and product relationships with third-party partners and vendors, ensuring contracts, service levels and product commitments are clearly defined and delivered.
- Drive end-to-end delivery of platform development and implementation programmes across inhouse, partner and third-party workstreams, managing resources, risks and dependencies to agreed milestones, budgets and quality standards.
- Ensure all platform components and partner integrations comply with established architecture, integration, security and data governance standards, working closely with Cyber Security, Infrastructure, Data Governance and Finance teams.
- Actively embody, promote and advocate the organisation's core values in all interactions, decisions and work practices, serving as a role model for ethical behaviour and an inclusive, respectful workplace.
Qualification
To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in platform, product or programme management roles with accountability for end-to-end delivery.
- Proven experience managing third party technology vendors, including selection, commercial negotiation and contract management.
- Experience as a product owner or product manager on a platform or SaaS product.
- Experience delivering programmes with multiple concurrent workstreams within a corporate governance environment.
- Expert understanding of enterprise integration concepts, including Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), data exchange and integration middleware, sufficient to engage credibly with architects and development partners on integration design and delivery.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Able to operate across commercial, technical and operational audiences both internally and externally. Strong programme oversight skills and the ability to maintain clarity across a complex, multi-vendor delivery landscape.
You will have an edge, if you have:
- Formal product management certification (e.g. AIPMM, Pragmatic Institute) or programme/project management qualification.
- Experience in inflight retail, airline catering, travel retail or a related aviation, hospitality or logistics domain.
- Experience with ERP integration programmes such as Oracle Fusion or Microsoft Business Central.
- Experience managing offshore or nearshore development partners.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale systems, payment processing platforms or crew-facing retail applications. Exposure to Product Information Management (PIM) systems, financial reconciliation platforms or demand forecasting solutions.
