Contemporary Living Building Contracting LLC is looking for an experienced Joinery Draftsman to join our team in Dubai.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings, working drawings and factory production drawings for kitchens, wardrobes, vanity units, wall panelling, bespoke furniture and other custom joinery works.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed joinery shop drawings and working drawings for factory production.
• Produce plans, elevations, sections and detailed construction drawings.
• Develop kitchen and wardrobe drawings from approved designs and 3D renders.
• Prepare detailed cabinet layouts showing all dimensions.
• Produce manufacturing details for:
• Kitchen cabinets
• Wardrobes
• Vanity units
• TV units
• Wall panelling
• Doors
• Shelving
• Bespoke furniture
• Other custom joinery
• Prepare detailed sections showing carcass construction, doors, drawers and internal components.
• Prepare cutting lists and material schedules where required.
• Coordinate appliance dimensions and openings within kitchen drawings.
• Detail hinges, drawer runners, handles and other hardware.
• Prepare drawings suitable for direct use by the joinery factory and carpenters.
• Coordinate drawings with architectural, interior design, MEP and site requirements.
• Review site measurements and ensure drawings correspond with actual site dimensions.
• Revise drawings following designer, project manager or client comments.
• Ensure all drawings are accurate and suitable for production before issuing to the factory.
• Maintain drawing revisions and proper documentation for each project.

Required Experience

Candidates should have previous experience working within a joinery, kitchen, furniture or interior fit-out company.

The ideal candidate should have:

• Strong experience preparing joinery working drawings and shop drawings.
• Good knowledge of kitchen and wardrobe construction.
• Understanding of cabinet carcass construction and manufacturing methods.
• Knowledge of MDF, plywood, melamine, laminate, veneer and other joinery materials.
• Understanding of hinges, drawer systems and cabinet hardware.
• Ability to read architectural and interior design drawings.
• Ability to convert a design concept or 3D render into a fully detailed, buildable drawing.
• Good understanding of factory production requirements.
• Strong attention to dimensions and technical details.

Software Skills

Candidates should be experienced in:

• AutoCAD – Essential
• SketchUp – Advantage
• Microsoft Office

Experience with other joinery or cabinet production software would also be advantageous.

Important

We are not looking for a general AutoCAD draftsman.

We require someone who specifically understands joinery construction and manufacturing and can produce drawings that a factory carpenter can manufacture directly from.

The candidate must understand both how to draw the joinery and how the joinery is actually built.
