We are a fast-growing technology company that designs and develops IoT hardware and software products. Our multidisciplinary team leverages cutting-edge design tools and advanced engineering technologies to bring new ideas to life. We are seeking a Hardware Testing Engineer to take ownership of hardware validation across our product range. The role covers functional testing and debugging of assembled boards, prototype rework and repair, and the development of test firmware used to verify hardware operation. This is a laboratory-based position suited to an engineer who prefers practical,hands-on work and takes a methodical approach to fault diagnosis.

Responsibilities:

• Test, validate, and debug boards against the design intent, diagnosing faults down to component or net level across analogue and digital sections, using oscilloscopes, logic analysers, multimeters, and bench power supplies.
• Develop, document, and execute test procedures and acceptance criteria for each product, and build test jigs and fixtures where repeatable testing is required.
• Perform routine and regression testing on established products, including re-verification after component substitutions, supplier changes, or design revisions.
• Write, adapt, and run test firmware in C/C++ for microcontrollers, exercising peripherals,
• sensors, and interfaces, and working with the firmware team to establish whether a defect is hardware or software in origin.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support board bring-up, debugging, and validation.
• Carry out precision hand soldering and desoldering for prototype rework and repair, including fine-pitch QFP/QFN and BGA rework, and modify prototype boards cleanly for testing.
• Assemble and inspect prototype builds against IPC-A-610 criteria, and work alongside the production team to troubleshoot assembly-related defects.
• Recommend component alternatives, contribute to BOM reviews, feed test results back into schematic and layout revisions, and verify that corrective actions resolved the issue.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, or a closely related engineering discipline.
• 2 years of hands-on experience in hardware test, bring-up, validation, or electronics repair.
• Demonstrated ability to debug mixed-signal PCBs to component level with limited supervision.
• Strong practical soldering and rework skills on surface-mount assemblies, including fine-pitch work under a microscope.
• Confident use of oscilloscopes, multimeters, programmable power supplies, and electronic loads.
• Working knowledge of embedded C and the ability to read, modify, and debug firmware on microcontrollers.
• Ability to read schematics and PCB layouts and relate them to physical hardware.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication.
• Practical experience with microcontroller families such as ESP32, STM32, MSP430, or Nordic
• nRF and their development toolchains (a plus).
• Familiarity with cellular (LTE Cat-1/Cat-M), LoRa, BLE, or Wi-Fi modules and basic RF measurement (a plus).
• PCB design experience including schematic capture and layout, with understanding of practices that affect testability and manufacturability (a plus).
• Prior experience in an SMT production environment (a plus).
• Must be able to join immediately and already based in Dubai
