Data & AI Expert (UAE National)

A confidential Abu Dhabi Government Entity is looking for a highly experienced Data & AI Expert.

About the Role

This is a hands-on technical leadership role for an experienced AI and Data practitioner who will personally design, build and deploy complex AI and data solutions.

The successful candidate will combine deep technical expertise with the ability to set architecture and technical direction, mentor teams, and translate strategic priorities into practical AI and Data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and personally deliver complex AI and Data initiatives , including enterprise data platforms, predictive analytics, GenAI applications and program-level intelligence systems.
• Write and review production-grade code , primarily using Python and SQL.
• Design and evolve enterprise data, AI/ML, MLOps and GenAI architectures .
• Develop and deploy modern AI/ML and LLM solutions , including RAG, fine-tuning, evaluation and AI agents.
• Establish engineering standards covering code quality, testing, security, model evaluation and responsible AI.
• Lead technical evaluations, build-vs-buy assessments and vendor due diligence.
• Develop the AI & Data roadmap aligned with organisational and Abu Dhabi Government priorities.
• Mentor and technically coach Data, AI and Analytics teams.
• Lead AI and Data governance, data quality, security and responsible AI practices.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science or a related discipline . Master's or PhD preferred.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering, Data Science or AI.
• At least 3 years leading technical teams or major programmes while continuing to contribute technically .
• Demonstrable experience writing production AI/Data code within the last 12 months .
• Strong expertise in Python and SQL .
• Proven experience delivering enterprise data platforms, AI/ML and GenAI solutions into production .
• Expert-level experience with at least one major cloud platform: Azure, AWS, GCP or OCI .
• Strong knowledge of MLOps/DataOps , including model deployment, monitoring and CI/CD.
• Practical experience with data governance, data quality, lineage and cataloguing .
• Strong understanding of data security, privacy and responsible AI.
• Full professional proficiency in Arabic and English is required.

Desirable

• Experience within construction, infrastructure, real estate development, consulting, contracting or government infrastructure is highly valued, particularly exposure to project, cost, contract, claims, scheduling and BIM data.

• Experience with Primavera P6, BIM, document control, cost forecasting or infrastructure programme data would be an advantage.
