Job Purpose:
As a Claims Specialist, you will manage and support the handling of a variety of insurance claims, with a particular focus on motor liability and recovery claims. You will help ensure claims are assessed, coordinated and resolved efficiently, accurately and in line with company policies and procedures. Working closely with DHL business partners, insurers, brokers, legal representatives and other stakeholders, you will contribute to fair and timely claim outcomes while delivering a high level of service and building your expertise in claims management.
Your tasks:
- Manage and progress a portfolio of motor third-party liability (MTPL/WAM) claims from initial notification through to settlement.
- Handle recovery claims relating to motor vehicle damage, property damage and salary recovery.
- Support the assessment of liability by reviewing claim information, documentation and expert reports.
- Coordinate with loss adjusters, legal representatives, brokers, insured parties, claimants and other relevant stakeholders.
- Communicate with DHL Business Partners and provide timely updates on claim progress and outcomes.
- Support liability and settlement negotiations, aiming to achieve fair and timely outcomes.
- Identify potential recovery opportunities and follow up on the recourse of claim-related costs.
- Monitor claims, including progress, financial exposure, quality and service levels.
- Maintain accurate and complete claim files and ensure all administrative activities are completed in a timely manner.
- Prepare regular claims reports and provide relevant updates and insights to Business Partners.
- Contribute to improvements in claims processes, procedures and ways of working.
- Build your knowledge of insurance, claims handling and DHL’s business through day-to-day interaction with experienced colleagues and stakeholders.
Your profile:
- 1-3 years of experience in insurance claims, claims administration, or a similar support role.
- Basic understanding of insurance and claims handling principles. Experience with motor claims would be an advantage.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable communicating with a variety of stakeholders and building positive working relationships.
- Customer-focused approach with a professional and proactive mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
