Around 80 percent of all microchips worldwide are manufactured using ZEISS technology. ZEISS is a technology leader in semiconductor manufacturing equipment. With highly precise lithography optics, photomask systems, and process control solutions, we enable the production of ever smaller, more powerful, and more energy-efficient microchips.

In our Diagnostics and Monitoring area, you will work in a highly innovative research and development environment on the advancement of complex lithography systems. In this role, you will help shape high-performance diagnostics and monitoring solutions and contribute your expertise to a dynamic team.

Your role

  • Develop and implement diagnostics and monitoring solutions for lithography systems

  • Analyze requirements for diagnostic strategies and monitoring approaches and translate them into suitable solutions

  • Ensure the performance of the developed solutions and verify them through bottom-up evidence

  • Design diagnostic workflows for functional subsystems and align them with internal interfaces and customers

  • Develop models and predictors for monitoring

  • Define requirements for software implementation

Your profile

  • Degree in natural sciences or engineering, ideally at master's level, for example in physics, electrical engineering, mechatronics, mechanical engineering, or chemistry

  • Professional experience in system diagnostics and monitoring, ideally in aerospace, sensor technology, electronics, automotive supply, or semiconductor technology

  • Very good knowledge of Matlab or Python

  • Sound expertise in fault diagnostics and process standardization

  • Broad technical understanding and a structured, analytical way of working

  • Business fluent German at C1 level and good English skills at B2 level
