Job description

  • Responsible for the execution of the CO2 compressor

  • Define work packages, write specifications for scope and services, prepare request for quotation documents, conduct technical supplier meetings, select suppliers, ensure expedition of your lots  

  • Coordinate and supervise concepts, basic engineering and persuade counterparts even in controversial discussions. You support the team cross functional in the area of carbon capture. With your sound experience you will ensure the interfaces and concept requirements of the different systems are matching together 

  • Clarify interfaces also with other disciplines (civil, steel structure, construction, Electrical & instrumentation, plant layout) and you integrate the lot in the plant 

  • Drive an active collaboration with the plant design (installation of components and pipe routing) 

  • Ensure supplier compliance and you are responsible of receiving the engineering documents in due time. You will check, comment and approve them and distribute them to internal and external stakeholders 

  • Ensure regulatory compliance with respect to the responsible systems (lots) 

  • Support the construction and commissioning team, mainly from the office) 

  • Willingness to travel 10-20% of your time to suppliers or on site

  • Trained Mechanical Engineer (Bachelor or Master degree) with 5+ years’ experience within the power generating and turbo machinery industry

  • Experience with one or more types of industrial compressors (axial, centrifugal, reciprocating) is considered an asset 

  • Solid understanding of different industrial plant processes, mechanical equipment, components and systems

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications

  • Ability to read and understand Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) 

  • Strong coordination and negotiating skills paired with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders on different levels (procurement, suppliers, site staff) 

  • Structured, precise self-driven, positive, and responsible personality 

  • Fluency in English, German knowledge is a plus
