Job description

Zurich Instruments is a technology leader in advanced test and measurement instruments and in control electronics for quantum computing (QC). Our products consist of a deep stack of electronics and control software.

While real-time data processing inside the instruments has been key traditionally, the tight, low-latency integration with an environment of CPUs and GPUs gains great importance now. With the Data Transfer team, you lead a small group of proven experts accelerating this transition. You will directly report to our VP R&D.

Zurich Instruments is part of the Rohde & Schwarz Group.

Your responsibilities

Lead our high-performance data path team, driving CPU/GPU integration for next-gen quantum computing instruments.

Drive all aspects of people development in close collaboration with our HR team.

  • Engage in architecture decisions for backend- and server-SW.

Build engineering capability, manage technical debt and optimize delivery processes.

  • Own delivery of features.

Align with stakeholders, including product management, cross-functional agile development teams, or our Engineering Productivity team. Your profile

Must-have

MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

3+ years leading a software engineering team, with strong communication and organizational skills.

Broad C++ experience in a professional environment.

Familiarity with networking protocols, and interfacing with firmware or specialized hardware.

Nice-to-have

Experience with CUDA, Python, or Rust.

Exposure to RDMA/RoCE, high-performance computing, or low-latency systems.

Background in controlling lab equipment. We offer a diverse work environment with an open and transparent company culture where personal development forms the basis of our success. We thrive on cooperation and support distributed decision-making that allows everyone to take responsibility and generate substantial impact from the start and on many levels. Now is a great time to join the team. We look forward to receiving your resume and motivation letter.
