Scope of the role:
The Social Value Coordinator will lead the delivery, measurement, and reporting of social value commitments across all project phases. This role ensures meaningful community benefit and that client requirements are embedded from tender stage through to project completion.
In addition, the role supports employee engagement, health and wellbeing initiatives, social committee activities, and training programmes across the Business Unit.
Key Responsibilities of the Role:
- Implement and monitor Social Value Plans aligned with TOMs, PPN 06/20 and client requirements
- Track KPIs including employment, apprenticeships, MSME/VCSE engagement, volunteering, diversity and local spend
- Prepare and submit monthly social value reports to client and internal platforms
- Act as the primary point of contact for community queries
- Coordinate community events, site visits, volunteering initiatives and open days
- Maintain and distribute the monthly Community Engagement Tracker
- Support procurement teams in social value compliance requirements
- Promote local and diverse supply chain participation
- Maintain auditable social value records across the supply chain
- Coordinate Business Unit health and wellbeing initiatives
- Promote mental health, wellbeing and work-life balance programmes
- Track participation and engagement metrics
- Coordinate and support Business Unit and project social events
- Promote inclusive engagement initiatives aligned with company values
- Support apprenticeship, graduate and early careers programmes
- Coordinate training schedules, attendance and reporting
- Maintain accurate and auditable records
- Support tender submissions when required
- Carry out ad-hoc tasks as requested by the Operations Manager and BU Lead
Essential Criteria for the Role:
- Experience in social value, community engagement, CSR, or a related field
- Strong organisational and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to track, analyse, and report data accurately (KPIs, metrics, reporting tools)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and record-keeping capability
Desirable Criteria:
- Knowledge of TOMs (Themes, Outcomes and Measures) and PPN 06/20
- Experience working within construction, engineering, or infrastructure sectors
- Familiarity with social value reporting platforms and frameworks
- Experience coordinating training programmes or early careers initiatives
- Interest in health & wellbeing, diversity & inclusion, or community development initiatives
