As part of this development the Portoflio and performance team is looking for an Solution Manager to support this growth in Germany
As a Solution manager you will
- Work with the Portfolio Business Managers to develop a Solution Roadmap and Portfolio, for Connectivity services
- Be responsible for the lifecycle management of the solution portfolio for this market segment, including realising corresponding business cases
- Be the champion for this solution portfolio within the company, driving the activity forwards by blending business and technical understanding with a strategic vision for this sector
- Closely interact with customers, product developers and managers, engineering, procurement and sales organisations to ensure the best market fit of our portfolio
- Secure Sales involvement for an accurate requirements definition / CONOPS, supporting the development of Business Cases and input into Key Campaigns for our satcom services solutions and related integration capabilities
- Support Sales in customer RFP shaping and optimisation, informing Sales about actual Space Digital capabilities vs. customer expectations
- Maximise the competitiveness and profitability of solutions (make / buy / partner decisions, synergies), guiding the product management team in portfolio decisions and ensuring repeatability and alignment with ADS Engineering roadmaps
- Steer R&D allocation for the solution and associated building blocks, influencing R&T spend for early developments
- Provide consultancy (internal and external) on topics related to the domain
Key Responsibilities:
- Management of the solution, tightly linked to OP, key campaigns and market trends
- Act as a center of competence for the solution area ; represent our solutions at exhibitions, conferences, internal Airbus workshops, etc…
- Support Marketing & Sales (M&S) in consulting with customers, collecting customer requirements and understanding their concepts of operations; support M&S in shaping future customer requirements
- Recommend the allocation of R&DT or capex budget and work with the relevant teams to ensure this is spent in line with forecasts
- Map key upcoming campaigns for the solution area into a set of generic requirements and use cases, identifying any specific campaign requirements which cannot be handled within the solution, potentially requiring campaign specific decisions and funding
- Work with solution architects on the target solution architecture, CONOPS and main features
- Ensure repeatability of key technology bricks and solution architecture across various ISS geographical markets
- Influence make or buy decision-making on key building blocks / products to maximize our USPs, minimise delivery risks and enable some customisation per campaign
- Liaise with complementary industrial / technology partners and recommend partnerships through which the solution can be delivered
- Where required, represent Space Digital in committees (e.g. Standardisation committees, Advisory Committees) and manage the internal expert community, building strong relationships with key stakeholders across the Airbus business
- Drive an increase in competitiveness by ensuring the validity of requirements, funding releases, development start etc..., together with the responsible functions
