Senior Cost Engineer

Job Summary

Mobco Group is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Cost Engineer to join our project team in Riyadh. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting within the construction industry, with proven experience on hospitality and hotel development projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in monitoring project costs, analyzing financial performance, and ensuring effective cost management throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, monitor, and maintain project budgets, cost plans, and cost control systems.
• Track project expenditures and ensure costs remain within approved budgets.
• Prepare cost reports, cash flow forecasts, earned value analysis, and financial performance reports.
• Monitor commitments, variations, change orders, and claims to evaluate their cost impact.
• Coordinate with project managers, commercial teams, procurement departments, and site teams to ensure accurate cost tracking.
• Analyze project progress against budgets and identify potential cost overruns and financial risks.
• Review subcontractor payment applications, supplier invoices, and cost-related documentation.
• Assist in the preparation of project forecasts and management reports.
• Support tendering and estimation teams by providing cost data and historical project information.
• Participate in value engineering initiatives and cost optimization strategies.
• Ensure compliance with company financial procedures and project reporting requirements.
• Prepare monthly cost control reports and present findings to senior management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 7–11 years of experience in cost engineering, cost control, or commercial management within the construction industry.
• Proven experience on hospitality, hotel, luxury resort, or mixed-use development projects is mandatory.
• Strong understanding of project budgeting, forecasting, earned value management, and cost reporting.
• Experience working with major contracting companies on large-scale projects.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and cost management software.
• Strong analytical, financial, and reporting skills.

Mandatory Requirements

• 7–11 years of relevant experience in cost engineering and cost control.
• Hospitality or hotel project experience is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of project cost management processes and construction financial controls.
• Previous experience with reputable contracting companies.
• Ability to join immediately or within a short notice period.
