Civil Quantity Surveyor

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Civil Quantity Surveyor with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the construction industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for quantity surveying, cost control, contract administration, and supporting the successful delivery of construction projects while ensuring compliance with contractual and company requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare quantity take-offs and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) from drawings and specifications.
• Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and tender documentation.
• Review and evaluate subcontractor quotations and recommend suitable contractors.
• Measure, value, and certify work completed by subcontractors and suppliers.
• Prepare interim payment applications, progress valuations, and final accounts.
• Monitor project costs, variations, and cash flow, ensuring expenditures remain within budget.
• Evaluate variation orders, claims, and contractual entitlements.
• Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, consultants, and clients regarding commercial matters.
• Maintain accurate records of quantities, costs, contracts, and project documentation.
• Ensure compliance with contract terms, company policies, and project specifications.
• Assist in procurement activities and material cost analysis.
• Prepare commercial reports and support project cost forecasting.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Civil Quantity Surveyor in a construction company.
• Strong knowledge of quantity surveying principles, construction contracts, and cost management.
• Experience in preparing BOQs, cost estimation, and contract administration.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quantity surveying software (e.g., AutoCAD, CostX, CCS Candy, PlanSwift, or similar).
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
