Scope Of Role As Buyer / Expeditor, you will be responsible for all on-site buying of materials and services for assigned Projects ensuring that you are optimising the cost, quality, and service. You will also be responsible for all expediting activities on the assigned Projects and the updating of all associated trackers.

Deliver best in class performance through professional, competitive and efficient buying processes, controls and systems.

Key Responsibilities Of The Role

  • Responsible for procurement to pay process from Sourcing to invoice clearance
  • Supplier sourcing and negotiations
  • Conducting bid analysis and processing of purchase orders
  • Liaison with suppliers and accounts payable team regarding invoice queries
  • The preparation of regular reports on purchasing activities
  • Maintain Procurement Schedules with project teams and planning function.
  • Negotiate vendor alliances.
  • Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as sites and suppliers
  • Maximise value opportunities through adherence to specific supplier agreements
  • Assist buyers and data management in further developing low value high volume product categories
  • Take the lead on materials purchasing for specific projects as assigned by purchasing manager
  • Assist buyers and purchasing manager in eliminating wasteful processes
  • All other duties associated with that role
  • Track and expedite all material deliveries using the Procurement Schedule Report (PSR) to meet project timelines.
  • Expedite all subcontractor orders and ensure critical components & materials are on track with the schedule
  • Drive & deliver the expediting activities across all elements of the PSR
  • Maintain a clear and proactive communication between supply chain and onsite teams
  • Negotiate delivery date improvements or extensions as required to meet project needs.
  • Manage supplier and subcontractor relationships to ensure reliability and performance
  • Perform other duties as required to support the procurement and expediting functions

Essential Criteria

  • Experience in a similar role within an engineering or construction company.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ work experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Work well as part of a team towards a common goal.
  • Ability to prioritize workload efficiently.
  • Results-driven with project management skills
  • Demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, and resilience – being able to adjust positively to situations that involve changing tasks and/or location, shifting priorities or ambiguity.

  • A third level qualification preferably in supply chain or other related discipline.
