Chief Accountant

• Oversee all accounting operations, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Financial Reporting.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and ensure timely completion of financial closing activities.
• Provide financial analysis, management reports, and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
• Manage project accounting functions, including job costing, Work-in-Progress (WIP), revenue recognition, and project profitability analysis.
• Monitor project budgets against actual expenditures and report cost variances to management.
• Review and verify subcontractor payments, progress billings, retention balances, and contract variations.
• Ensure compliance with VAT regulations, taxation laws, accounting standards, and company policies.
• Establish and maintain effective internal controls and accurate financial documentation.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
• Supervise monthly payroll processing and ensure accurate and timely salary payments through the Wage Protection System (WPS).
• Manage payroll-related provisions, including annual leave, air ticket entitlements, and End of Service (EOS) benefits.
• Monitor project cash flows, working capital requirements, and overall liquidity management.
• Manage company bank accounts, payment planning, fund utilization, and banking relationships.
• Lead, supervise, and develop accounting staff to ensure operational efficiency and professional growth.
• Improve accounting procedures, reporting systems, and financial processes to enhance accuracy, control, and efficiency.
• previous experience in contracting companies preferable to be in MEP field

minimum 5 years experience as chief accounting

• able to work under pressure with small team members
