A Pricing Analyst determines the optimal pricing for a company's products or services to maximize revenue and profitability. They balance competitor data, production costs, and market demand, and typically require a degree in finance, economics, or data science. The standard job description includes core responsibilities, essential skills, and typical qualifications.Core Responsibilities* Market & Competitor Analysis: Research industry standards and competitor pricing to identify market trends and opportunities.

  • Financial Modeling: Create quantitative models to project the impact of price changes, promotions, and rebates on margins and revenue.
  • Data-Driven Strategy: Analyze historical sales and cost data to identify ideal target prices and clearance strategies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work alongside marketing, sales, and product teams to integrate pricing programs with business objectives.
  • Process & System Management: Administer pricing databases, update transfer pricing, and document analytical processes for stakeholders.

Essential Skills* Technical: Advanced proficiency in data analysis, Microsoft Excel, SQL, and business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau or PowerBI).

  • Analytical: Financial modeling, market research execution, and yield forecasting.
  • Workplace: Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and the ability to present complex data clearly to upper management.

(External) English Qualifications: Qualifications & Education* Education: Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, Data Science, Finance, or Accounting.
