Job Purpose

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving business growth, identifying new market opportunities, developing strategic client relationships, and securing contracts within the Oil & Gas sector. The role focuses on expanding the company's presence across upstream, midstream, downstream, EPC, maintenance, shutdown, turnaround, engineering, and industrial service projects while ensuring sustainable revenue generation and long-term client partnerships.

Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Sales

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Generate and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients and projects.
  • Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve revenue targets.
  • Lead client acquisition activities and expand existing customer relationships.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, project managers, procurement teams, and stakeholders.
  • Conduct client meetings, presentations, and commercial negotiations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for major accounts and strategic customers.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business.

Tendering & Contract Management

  • Identify and evaluate RFQs, RFPs, and tender opportunities.
  • Coordinate with technical, engineering, estimation, and operations teams to prepare competitive proposals.
  • Participate in commercial negotiations and contract finalization.
  • Ensure compliance with client requirements and contractual obligations.

Market Intelligence & Strategy

  • Conduct market research to identify emerging opportunities and growth sectors.
  • Analyze industry trends, customer requirements, and competitor positioning.
  • Develop market entry strategies for new geographical regions and service offerings.
  • Provide management with regular business forecasts and market intelligence reports.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, finance, procurement, and project teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Support project handover processes from sales to operations.
  • Participate in industry conferences, exhibitions, and networking events.

Revenue & Performance Management

  • Achieve annual sales and profitability targets.
  • Prepare monthly sales reports, business forecasts, and pipeline reviews.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to business growth and customer acquisition.
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization and value-added services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
  • MBA or equivalent business qualification preferred.
  • Additional certifications in Sales, Contract Management, or Project Management are advantageous.

Experience

  • Minimum 8–15 years of experience in Business Development, Sales, Commercial, or Account Management within the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Proven experience in securing contracts for EPC, Oilfield Services, Maintenance, Turnaround, Shutdown, Fabrication, Construction, or Engineering projects.
  • Strong exposure to GCC, Middle East, or international Oil & Gas markets preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record of achieving sales targets and business growth.

Required Skills & CompetenciesTechnical & Commercial Skills

  • Strong understanding of Oil & Gas operations and project lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of EPC, EPCI, Maintenance, Turnaround, Shutdown, and Industrial Services.
  • Tendering, bidding, and contract negotiation expertise.
  • Commercial acumen and financial awareness.
