Job description

Project Overview:

Expo 2030 Riyadh is a global platform where countries, organizations, and individuals will come together to collaborate. Under the theme “Foresight for Tomorrow,” the Expo promotes sustainable development, innovation, and transformative thinking. The event will be held from October 2030 to March 2031 and is expected to welcome over 40 million visits. The 6 km² Masterplan outlines a comprehensive framework for participation and infrastructure at the Expo. The exhibition space, totaling 491,100 m² GFA, can accommodate up to 197 participating countries and 29 international organizations. Working collaboratively with our customer, Expo 2030 Riyadh Company (ERC), Bechtel will manage the infrastructure program which comprises early works, utilities, and publicly accessible spaces like streets and parks. Our scope on the six-square-kilometer site will transition into a mixed-use legacy development to serve the community after the six-month event is over. The project’s master plan leverages international sustainability standards for urban afforestation, treated water, and energy sources. 

Job Summary:

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting implementation of project specific cost control and reporting procedures, estimating, analysis and control activities for projects with significant non-routine requirements. You will prepare cost studies, cost trends, and develop and implement project requirements for cost control. Your analysis will provide innovative solutions to cost engineering challenges. This position is designated as part-time teleworking according per our global telework policy and will require at least four days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Undertakes trend detection recording, monitoring, and reporting change to the project management team.
  • Forecast cost and schedule impacts on budget resulting from trends and then suggesting mitigation plans.
  • Understand Bechtel trend process and subcontracts/key requirements for changes in contracts.
  • Assists in analysis of specially assigned change related initiatives or work planning requiring detailed change assessment and response planning efforts.
  • Support the overall trend program schedule and initiating trend focus meetings through cooperation with all disciplines to achieve a successful trend programme.
  • Supports the timely preparation of cost estimates. Prepares and analyses comparisons of scope, quantities, and cost data between the projects.
  • Performs productivity analysis of Construction operations and verifies results.
  • Establishes productivity basis to be utilized in estimates, as developed with the concurrence of Construction.
  • Prepares or supervises the preparation of cost studies utilizing historical data, statistical analysis, and cost and quantity comparisons.
  • Develop innovative new techniques to meet specific needs, as required.
  • Responsible developing trend evaluations. Verifies consistency with previous reports to ensure compatibility.
  • Responsible for issuing reports required by management and project procedures.
  • Responsible for understanding the project budget and scope, monitoring project development, flagging all deviations from budget, as well as preparing and evaluating trends.
  • Assists in developing unit job-hour and pricing data for a specific discipline or other specialty.
  • Performs data analysis, identifies problems, and makes recommendations.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of estimating methods, processes, and procedures.
