Role Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Commercial Director to lead the commercial and contractual management of large-scale, complex infrastructure and development programs within a giga-project environment. The role requires strong expertise in managing high-value contracts, claims exposure, and strategic commercial decision-making at executive level.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic commercial leadership across major development and infrastructure packages
• Manage complex contractual matters including correspondence with potential claims implications
• Lead the preparation, review, and response to high-level contractual communications in line with contractual obligations
• Oversee variations, claims, compensation events, and dispute avoidance/resolution strategies
• Ensure commercial risks are identified early and mitigated effectively
• Provide executive-level commercial advice to senior stakeholders and project leadership teams
• Review and approve all major commercial submissions, reports, and contractual deliverables
• Lead negotiation of contractual positions with contractors and stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with international standard forms of contract (e.g., FIDIC)
• Support financial forecasting, cost control, and commercial reporting at programme level
• Mentor and guide senior commercial and contract management teams

Candidate Requirements

• 15–20+ years of experience in commercial management within major infrastructure, real estate, or giga-project environments
• Proven experience in large-scale, high-value programmes with complex stakeholder structures
• Strong expertise in FIDIC and similar international contract frameworks
• Demonstrated experience handling claims, disputes, and contractual risk exposure
• Strong background in commercial strategy, contract administration, and negotiation
• Experience working in fast-paced, multi-package development environments
• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline (MRICS preferred)
• Strong leadership experience at senior or director level
